i'm in central liverpool so sort of near warrington. have had a few nights at the pub in warrington meeting a friend visiting her parents so have the proud honour of having seen something of Warrington other than IKEA.

have a look at the Liverpool meet-ups thread - plenty of friendly people who like a bit of moral support going to M & T groups etc.

There should be people going to Granmas at Hunts Cross on Thursday morning this week, if that's of interest.

mumwithnoname · 31/10/2004 21:28

will do. MTS (i've got a S too but he's 15!) Kids too big for M&T though (youngest's 6)

From Blackpool! Not far from Warrington. was reading another of your threads, you say that you are a nurse, where do you work if you dont mind me asking and what do you specialise in? Just interested cos so am i.

BadHair · 31/10/2004 22:29

Not really from Warrington but work there on a Saturday. Live in north Shropshire but its less than an hour up the A49, which is almost local, really.

mumwithnoname · 01/11/2004 19:47

Donbean, worked at a hospice for the last 4 years. It's the best place I've ever worked.Planning on doing my 931(or whatever its called now!) in the new year. What area are you in?

OP posts:
Donbean · 01/11/2004 19:50

ICU. Just done the 998 (equivalent) boring!!!!!
Want out though so im doing any course that they throw at me. Not at all sure what i want to do though, any suggestions?

mumwithnoname · 01/11/2004 22:08

Palliative care?! Sorry just biased!! But the asmosphere in a hospice is totally patient centred and you have time and are encouraged to talk. Its great to be able to spend the time you need with each patient and their families. It can be very stressful at times but-certainly in ours- there is excellent staff support. infact we have a long handover on a thursday lunch so we can reflect on the last week and discuss any issues.
Still come home stressed out at times!!Sales pitch over!!

The very same thing can be said for icu, its the hours that im struggling with. Especially nights. Ds doesnt sleep and im having to go in and do double shifts after 3/4 hours broken sleep and im not totally on the ball, which of course is esential in icu. So im exploring other options. The Friday thing sounds excellent, we dont hae any kind of de briefing at all ive always argued that it is essential. Oh well, new horizens becon.

Donbean · 02/11/2004 17:08

meant to say beckon...sorry, tired....as usual!
