Hi Steph,
moved from east london last week!.Very new to life in wickford. Tried the jingles group this morning, which i think Jacob enjoyed. However a bit more daunting for myself, why is it so difficult ton get to know mums when they are already settled and happy with their group of friends. Do you or anyone else know of any mums/baby/tots coffee mornings/groups in wickford or around?. live on the wick in a new house by the safeway petrol station roundabout.Talk soon.

Sozie · 10/11/2004 15:19

Stephandfrankie, I'm in Chadwell Heath and try to get in to Romford Town Centre once a week but with dd at Nursery I panic that I'll get caught in traffic and not get back in time - bet you don't miss the traffic - it's getting worse round here. I'd love to move further out but we are in the process building an extension and I don't think the house will ever be in a fit state to sell (dh is the builder . Got to get off to pick dd up now from nursery - speak soon

babbler · 10/11/2004 19:51

Anyone want to meet up in Wickford Essex sometime?

stephandfrankie · 12/11/2004 08:33

I'd be up for meeting! A Saturday would be best for me as I work but I can get time off with enough notice! Wickford or Romford or anywhere that's easiest for everyone else! Who drives and would be up for meeting?

Hi steph
Congratulations on your pregnancy!! Im due at the end of July, the 26th but will probably have an August baby as my DD Emily was ten days late! Not sure what Basildon hospital is like, did you have your little girl in Harold Wood?
Hope you are feeling ok, Im a bit queasy but not too bad!
Jess x x

stephandfrankie · 18/11/2004 11:23

Hi Jess,
Yeah had Francesca in Harold wood, they were nice there! My sister in law had her son in Basildon and said they were nice and have heard some good reports so hopefully will be ok! Where did you have Emily then?
I'm not feeling that bad at the moment.Just sore boobs!!!!Didn't get morning sickness until about 11/12wks last time.I'm finding it still as exciting and scarey 2nd time round though.Every little twinge I get paranoid!!! Hope to have my 12wk scan before Christmas as I'll be exactly 12 weeks on Christmas day!!!

OP posts:
jess287 · 18/11/2004 11:39

I had Emily in Harold Wood as I lived in Rainham before moving here. I had a pretty horrible time with the midwives in the delivery room but the ones on the ward were lovely.
Glad to know Im not the only paranoid one!! I havent been sick yet, but Im only 4+2 and I was sick til 16 wks last time and had awful headaches so fingers crossed this time!
It is scary but exciting, Im looking forward to telling our parents, we're putting that off til nearer to Christmas, its fun having a little secret for now!!

stephandfrankie · 18/11/2004 11:50

I've already told my mum and sister but I'm hoping not to tell the inlaws until at least after 20wks scan...that's if I can hide bump for that long!!Last time I didn't really show properly until about 6mnths so hopefully I'll be the same this time although they say you show quicker after the first one!!!???
So how long have you lived in basildon then? Do you prefer it to Rainham? We've been in wickford for about 2years now,I do prefer it in some ways but i miss Romford alot!!Still go shopping there quite alot!!
Saying that about harold wood, the first midwife i had when i was in labour wasn't that nice but i didn't have her for long, the rest of the staff were good though! have you told emily yet? I've not told Francesca, think we'll wait a while yet!

OP posts:
jess287 · 18/11/2004 12:11

Ive told my sister, we were trying for six months and she knew so I couldnt wait to tell her!
I didnt look pregnant til late last time, im overweight anyway and when I went on maternity leave from work lots of people were surprised that I was pregnant!! When I was in labour everyone that came to see me was amazed that I was overdue as my bump was so small...didnt mean my belly shrank back after though!!
We've been in Basildon for a year now, we lived in Laindon for a while, that was awful. Its ok here but people arent that friendly, even neighbours with kids so it can be a bit lonely as Im a stay at home mum. My mum still lives in Rainham so we're there a lot as she has a big garden, and Im always popping into Lakeside!
Im not sure if Emily will understand about a new baby yet, shes 20mths but hopefully we can prepare her nearer the time!

jess287 · 20/11/2004 12:26

Sozie · 07/12/2004 14:38

Hi Bubbaloo, Can't believe there's someone else in Chadwell Heath Shock. How's your pregnancy progressing?

BUBBALOO · 07/12/2004 14:42

hi sozie,
actually really well-i havent felt better! ive had no sickness or even nausea, infact couldnt have felt better.off work at the mo as ive got a really bad cold and a bit fluey but will probably go back in tomorrowSad
what about your pregnancy? whens yours due? are you having yours in harold wood?

Sozie · 07/12/2004 14:47

Yes, we've all had colds here. I'm not pregnant as I have 2 already and find that's enough thank you Grin. I have a dd who is 4 yo and a ds who is 2 yo and is definitely going through the terrible 2's with gusto! I gave birth to both at King George's and have nothing but praise for that hospital. Are you going to Harold Wood or King George's?
