Hello
is anybody doing meet-ups in hackney? I live close to the small Tesco, work freelance and have a 1 year old who is just learning to walk. Get in touch...LH

Hello, I'm in Stoke Newington...also work freelance but have 3.5 year-old. We go to the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green quite a lot. It's quite a good place to meet up & there are activities kids can join in with.

Hi LH - I'm on the Hackney border, in Dalston (near London Fields). I don't know the small Tesco is though so not sure how close we might be - whereabouts is it?

lh · 12/10/2004 19:48

hello
The small tesco is near well street, i basically live 5 minutes from mare street, sort of behind the ocean club. I do go to london fields quite a bit with my little man and also to the museum of childhood.

I am going to Museum of Childhood next Monday if anyone is interested--we'll get there about lunchtime (the cafe isn't the best, unfortunately, but can never persuade DS to go anywhere else first for lunch)

hoxtonchick · 13/10/2004 12:32

I'm in Hackney too (London Fields - hello aelita, long time no speak ). I'll keep an eye on this, as I work on Mondays, Thursdays & alternate Fridays. I have a ds who will be 3 in January.

frogs · 13/10/2004 18:53

Could we persuade you to venture as far as the Estorick collection for an Islington meetup, hc?

hoxtonchick · 13/10/2004 18:54

Oooh yes, frogs. Never been, always thought it looked nice. Are you going? When is it?

frogs · 13/10/2004 19:16

Don't know, yet. Waiting for others to do the organising . This is the thread.

aelita · 13/10/2004 19:38

Hi, hoxtonchick! It has been a long time.
Monday no good for me, sorry Arabica. LH, if there's anywhere you can suggest around Mare St, it's walking distance for me, straight up Wilton Way. I haven't ventured up much, so I have no idea where is good!

lh · 14/10/2004 17:15

Hello you all, cannot do this Monday - can do Tue or Wed pm. I don't know anywhere civilised on mare street where we could meet with children, so I would also suggest the Museum of Childhood. Any takers? I could get there for 230 or 3pm...

I'd like to meet up, but my three year old is a bit bored with the Museum of Childhood. I could do a morning meet-up somewhere, in which case I would just bring my baby DS3...will watch the thread anyway!

lh · 14/10/2004 17:37

How old is your baby Dino?

Over on the Islington thread we were muttering about a meetup at the Geffrye Museum.

I know several people are inbetween Islington and Hackney, so it might be worth a try. How about one morning next week (can't do Monday), say 10.30 or 11ish at the Geffrye? Or later for a sandwichy kind of lunch? Their cafe is good, and there's room outside for bigger children to run around.

aelita · 14/10/2004 19:33

I was just about to post a meetup suggestion for the Geffrye, Frogs, but you beat me to it
I could do Tuesday, 10-ish would be best for me, but if the consensus is for later, I'll go with that.

frogs · 14/10/2004 19:59

Tuesday at 10ish v. good for me too, as post school drop-off. Have posted the Geffrye suggestion on the Islington meetup thread as well.

lh · 14/10/2004 21:14

Tuesday at 10 is good for me too. Great stuff.

alfiebetty · 15/10/2004 15:29

Are there any young babies going my DD is 3mths? Might still come anyway as only live around corner from Geffrye but have never been.

hoxtonchick · 15/10/2004 15:51

I am having a flu jab at 10:25 (oh the glamour!) - I will give aelita a call when it's finished to see if you're all still there.

lh · 15/10/2004 16:47

Winona you live so close. I probably know your face from shopping in tesco... or the playgroups...maybe you can see me whilst i am typing this through my window..... How old are your kids?

OP posts:
winona · 16/10/2004 11:04

frogs · 18/10/2004 19:49

Are we all still on for this?

hoxtonchick · 18/10/2004 19:52
