The menus have arrived

Before I post them I think we should decide on how we are going to decide on what to have.

We have to choose 6 starters and 6 mains between all of us, which will be divvied up and served on platters to each table. There are 12 starter and 12 mains to choose from. Also you have to choose one out of 3 puddings (well 2 puddings and a shot of tequila)

Now, we can do this one of two ways

Either I can decide on 6 of each starter and main and if no-one has any great objections we could go with that

OR

We can put to the vote ? say 3 votes per person for each course, the 6 in each section with the most votes by Friday wins. Plus everyone chooses their pudding.

So my decision would be (trying to get something of everything incl veggie and based on the fact that I have tried the food and would recommend going with the simplest fare)

Starters

Smoked salmon and asparagus ? smoked salmon wrapped asparagus spears served with cream cheese

Goat?s cheese salad ? with rocket leaves, Goat?s cheese, tomato and olive oil vinaigrette

Selection of Cured Meats ? A selection of cured Spanish meats with manchego cheese and melon

Vegetable skewers ? Lime-flavoured char-grilled seasonal vegetables with fresh basil, olive oil and balsamic vinegar

Spanish omelette ? A traditional Spanish potato and onion omelette

Turkey Breast & cranberry sauce ? Turkey breast wrapped with Serrano ham served with cranberry sauce

Mains

Mix Sea Food ? Deep fried seafood mix served with lemon, sea salt and aioli

Chorizo ? pan fried in red wine sauce

Paella rice with chicken ? Traditional paella rice with chicken and traditional herbs

Quesadillas Fiesta ? Grilled tortilla parcel with vegetable mix and double cheese filling served with sour cream and salsa mexicana

Spare ribs ? pork spare ribs in a hickory bbq sauce

Stuffed Bell Peppers ? stuffed with rice, tomato sauce and authentic herbs topped with buffalo mozzerella

Pudding

Obviously everyone should have tequila
You could all choose your own or we could just go for a third of each and battle it out at the time?.

JodieG1 · 05/09/2007 14:17

I know but I wouldn't eat them all, I don't like a lot of "typical" veggie foods.

When I go out for the night I rarely eat anyway, Dh's christmas do is always a meal and I rarely eat any of it. I've never been one to eat and then drink, more room for alcohol that way

CountessDracula · 05/09/2007 14:23

I got crohn's disease and was told I had to eat meat as I had to spend 3 months on a diet with no fibre at all

JodieG1 · 05/09/2007 14:23

JeremyVile · 05/09/2007 16:43

Holy scrotum, I've double booked!

So do I take myself off the list on this thread or the other one? Both?

Do I just leave a gap for the next person signing up or do I need to bump all subsequent names up a slot? (PleaseSayGapPleaseSayGap... )

Beetroot · 05/09/2007 16:47
