Hi there

Not in Bath but London and thinking of moving to Bath (have dd aged 1). Would you recommend it for a SAHM?

IntergalacticWalrus · 29/08/2007 17:13

I love in Bath, and have been a SAHM for 3 yaers (until today, as I returned to work!!!) I have laways found plenty to do with the children, and have plenty of friends with children who I can call on.

I think it's a fab place to bring up children

IntergalacticWalrus · 29/08/2007 17:16

In fact, as the Tsarina (!) for the Bath section of Mumsnet Locval, I suppose I ought to point you to the Bath site

That might take you straight to the main page, so you might have to join the Bath section

Thats really helpful thanks!

Will be hoping to link up after we make the big move. Looking at Weston at the moment as DH will be working in Bristol and it seems to be the right side of town. Alternatively Widcombe to be near the station.

IntergalacticWalrus · 29/08/2007 17:36

I live in Weston. I love it. Some bits of Weston are better than others. Weston village is great as is Chelsea Road (good shops! Excellent curry house there too)

btw, I ahve DS1 who is 2.9 and DS2 who is one next week. I'm always happy to meet fello mners!

kerala · 29/08/2007 19:43

Great thats good to know!

Have dd aged 13 months

Will be back in touch once we have made the move - have been abit nervous about leaving my mum friends in London but sounds like there are similar likeminded souls in the west country.

FirstAtForty · 29/08/2007 22:41

Hi - I'm in Bath too and have a 13 month DD, have lived in both Bath and Bristol so if you have any questions fire away! I think Bath is good for kids too. When are you moving?

FirstAtForty · 29/08/2007 22:47

Just realised I didn't respond to the OP, sorry! Am up for meetups in Bath, anyone else?

kerala · 30/08/2007 11:46

Not moving for a couple of months as DH has a 3 month notice period. But by end of year I think

mollyollymummy · 31/08/2007 14:24

Kerala, Baths a great place, I live about 8 miles away but I am a frequent visitor, my children love Victoria park and I love the shops and restaurants it's just got such a buzz about it.Any of you ladies who would like to meet then lets do it.

Ok, I'm up for meeting

I work Monday/wednesday and frinday mornings, other than that I'm free

FirstAtForty · 01/09/2007 14:00

IGW do you mean Monday to Weds or just Mon and Weds (not Tues)? I can't do Thurs but could do anytime Tues or Friday.

Maybe Victoria Park after the schools have gone back (not sure when that is)?

IntergalacticWalrus · 01/09/2007 18:19

Mon and wednesday. Sorry, I'm an eejit when ity comes to typing

Tuesdays are good for me, and fridays are ok, as long as it's at lunchtime

FirstAtForty · 04/09/2007 18:45

How about next Tuesday in Victoria Park if the weather's okay (not too early tho' as I'm rubbish in the mornings ) ?

IssyLu · 17/09/2007 12:03

I have moved back to the area - 4 miles from Bath - have a DD who's 2.10 yrs and would love to meet up with some mums. I work full time so weekends would be great as feeling a bit of a Billy no mates at the moment. Could meet up for coffee at lunchtime in Bath without dd if that helps?? but hope to be soon!

octoandflash · 22/09/2007 20:35

I am just outside Bath too

IssyLu · 26/09/2007 11:18

That's great! Would you like to meet up? We can talk nappies, chatty children and greetings cards - that's what I do!

Samten · 16/10/2007 09:00

Posted a message on local site the other day and thought it was quiet round here.

I live in Corsham with my 4 month old son.

Would be interested in meeting up and hearing how it gets easier?!!!!
