Didn't quite know where to post this but am attending a parent social drinks this evening. I've never been to one and not quite sure what to wear. I'm a trainer gal but are trainers acceptable? What do mums normally wear to these things? Would so appreciate some help! Thanks in advance xx

A what??

Who's organising it? Where is it? What kind of time?

mamimogo · 16/10/2019 17:34

This evening from 7.30pm at a bar, organized by parent reps. It's apparently a get together for all the parents of the year group/primary school to do some informal socialising. Sorry, should have been more specific

I'm going to one on Friday night. I'm wearing a sparkly midi, plain black sweater and trainers, bare legs.

You couldn't pay me to go to something like that!

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 16/10/2019 17:38

Jeans and a nice top, swap the trainers for boots. Have a cardie/sweater to dress down the top if everyone else is scruffy.

Sorry, my school isn't posh enough for such stuff.

Agree smart jeans, nice top, flats or boots

KTD27 · 16/10/2019 17:47

My school had ours already. I wore jeans and a black too and nice flats. Lots of the mums were in jumpers jeans and trainers. A couple had dressed up but that’s definitely their style IYSWIM. Go with whatever you’re comfortable in and enjoy.

@HeyMicky this sounds right up my street. I'm going with a black midi, knit cardi and fave trainers. Thank you for your replies ladies Thanks
