You're just showing off your link prowess now Foxie

Kewcumber · 10/06/2007 12:36

wasn't that world village at Kew last year? Isn;t it the weekend of the MN picnic in Hyde park?

foxcub · 10/06/2007 16:29

KewC - well spotted, it is the same weekend and the same venue. Presumably the MN picnic organisers know there is a fab concert on in Hyde Park - or else its just a wonderful co-incidence

xoxo · 10/06/2007 17:47

Marble Hill Park is also fab. and the 'dog free enclosure' is right there so children can crwal in poo free happiness.

we usually go early with picnic and prams so kids can fall asleep and just be popped into buggy and wheeled home.

Or we just get Thai takeaway from Fat Boys/ Thai upon Thames and get comfy.

Again, I'm not clever enough to do the links

foxcub · 10/06/2007 19:23

Kew/Oxo - I was wondering if either of you would have a spare 15 mins to read over my grievance tonight, to ensure I come across as reasonable and grown up - rather than like a bunny boiler. You won't be familair with the internal issues, but its the tome I'm concerend about. I need to be very assertive but also look as though I them want to retrieve the situation.

Kewcumber · 10/06/2007 19:42

no probelem foxie - wang it over

foxcub · 10/06/2007 19:49

Thanks mate

Kewcumber · 10/06/2007 20:10

done and sent back - I htink tone is fine I have suggested a few things. Also take a good look at it after you've finished. Make a list of the key points you want to make and what you want to happen as a result and make sure they come across clearly beacuse there is (unavoidably) a lot of content and the "call to action" as we media types say may get a bit lost...

foxcub · 10/06/2007 20:48

will do - thanks

SushiMummy · 11/06/2007 10:30

Good morning, all. Nice weekend?

24 June then? Fab! I will bring some lunch and drinks. DS's favourite toys are our two cats so can I bring them, too?

Kewcumber · 11/06/2007 10:52

no need Sushi - have two of my own (though they make a sharp exit when DS appears)

xoxo · 12/06/2007 08:20

Foxy: just caught up on thread now - am I too late to help? I am free this morning, between 11am and 12.30 if any good (school runs are doing my head in!)

xoxo · 12/06/2007 08:27

Can anyone advise me on how to get a 4 yr old to stay in bed after 5.30am? There's a fab thread going now on little 'uns, but no good to me.

DS is soooo tired. He wakes at 5.30am (at the latest) every morning. He goes to bed at 7pm at teh latest and falls asleep right away. No way will he nap - it's like a personal insult to even suggest it.

He gets so tired and grumpy at about 4pm, and it's beginning to intefere with his dinner as he gets himself in such a foul mood taht he argues about everything. Factor in an activity such as football/ park and he's dead on his feet at 5pm, too tired for dinner (so he wakes up early and it all starts again).

I thought this bit would be over me now that he's older

We have black out blinds. He eats well generally. This has been going on for about 6 mths now.

Oh, and I thought we'd been through the 'tantrums at two' - we are now realising that ds did not actually tantrum - well nothing compared to dd's tantrums - they are scarey. But that's for another time. Right now I'd settle for some sleep

xoxo · 12/06/2007 09:01

Foxy: am going to teh library or I will kill go mad.
text/ call me if you are around and want me to pop over

Paddlechick666 · 12/06/2007 09:20

oxo, no words of advice i'm afraid! if you can figure it out please let me and QC know as our littlies are waking ever earlier!

ooh just remembered, i read a thread somewhere that said boys have a testosterone surge around 4yrs - maybe your ds is in the middle of it?

hope it all settles down soon for you.

Kewcumber · 12/06/2007 12:53

Ds slept until 6.15 this morning, I however have been trained into waking at 5.30 so I still did . Is he trainable into reading in his room at 5.30 when he wakes up? Perhaps if its dull he might gradually stay asleep longer?

Paddlechick666 · 12/06/2007 13:38

dd will stay in her room for a while after she's woken but even that seems to be getting shorter.

we went swimming this morning and she napped for a total of 45 mins.

blimmin great! was in the middle of cooking for the freezer expecting at least another 30 if not 45 mins.

grrr

xoxo · 12/06/2007 13:41

Afarid not QC: when ds wakes the thing he wants to do first is wake dd so she can play with him.
I've tried leaving a book out for him but wonder if that's just 'rewarding' him for getting up so early? DHs idea is taht if he's left to get bored he'll just go back to sleep. Great theory. Crap followthrough

foxcub · 12/06/2007 16:56

Ooops just saw this!

Oxo thanx - I sent the grievance off last night. I might pick your brains before the hearing if that's OK

Can't offer any advice re. keeping kids in bed. I have the opposite problem. Mine are like teenagers and want to lie in bed all morning

Kewcumber · 13/06/2007 20:01

sadly mine is going through a phase wehre he won;t go to sleep without me in the room and he followsme round hanging onto my skirt/trousers.

I am as one with you on the early starts Oxo, perhaps we could start ringing Foxie up when we wake up?

foxcub · 13/06/2007 20:53

Well actually I was up at 5.30am feeding Monti, followed by 20 minutes callanetics excercise [pokes tongue out rudely]

RuthT · 14/06/2007 08:29

I have a 23 mnth old and have started to think about Primary Schools but am feeling a bit clueless. My nct buddies have moved away and I don't know any mums who have kids in the local primaries.

I live neat Mount Carmel/Little Ealing/Fielding (not sure in catchment for last one).

Does anyone have any knowledge of which ones are decent state or private and what I need to do to get dd on lists (if worth it)?

Any advice really appreciated

foxcub · 14/06/2007 10:10

nanou knows about ealing schools, ruth

nanou - you out there?
