It does seem like that sometimes, doesn't it? I'm Northern - well, Cheshire. Just spent a week in Carmarthenshire with the inlaws - that anywhere near you?

Mosschops, sorry - seem to be following you around like a bad smell on here! - I am in Bristol, but we go to Broadoak quite a lot as my parents have a holiday home there - is theat nearer you?

Broadoak is between Newport and Glos - sort of over the bridge and right a bit (or if you are cheap skates like us drive all the way to Glos to avoid the toll!)
We only get a 20 week scan, and that's it, could pay about 150 for a nuchal scan (done privately) but can't afford that so having to rely on the blood test (groan more worry) at 16 weeks.
I don't really know very much about private scans and hospitals, think in our local hospital you can pay to have your own room but as I am hoping to be in and out with this one shouldn't need it. When are you due and is this your first?

My DD is 7 but will be 8 when I am due (feb 05) so I can't remember the 1st thing about it - except that the hospital was horrible and I wanted to be home! I also have a step DD who is 7 (6 months younger that DD) she already has a baby sister so is reminding me of everything that is happening at home

Momof2 · 19/08/2004 17:04

Oh - home time - hopefully catch up tomorrow, byeeee

xoz · 19/08/2004 17:32

I'm in Swindon, which is getting towards you.
There are lots of us who aren't from the big smoke! It's just not always that obvious.

Hayls · 19/08/2004 19:18

I'm in Glos. Think there are quite a few of us round here

Haven't found out yet - think DP would like a boy as he is already dreading the underwear situation when our 2 grow up (he does all the laundry!) and he wants someone who isn't hormonal to talk to - huh (flounce)
Have you found out? And what are you studying?

LOL about the barbie stuff (I'm NOT wearing that!)
Yes I think I will have to go back to work - prob take 7 months off as I will be due back at the beg. of August and that is slap bang in the middle of the hols so I will go back at the start of sept for the new term. Not sure what to do with baby - was considering starting up childminding and have done all the courses etc, but when I told work I was off they cut my hours to school hours (ie 9-3) and didn't cut my pay (how lucky is that?) so I am quite happy staying with them. Will prob go for a nursery to start with. DP's Dad is too poorly for me to ask them to help regularly.
Have you done nursing before or is this a new career move?
