I am moving from Brixton to Llanfairfechan in 2 weeks and am really worried that I will be incredibly lonely. Here in London I made loads of friends through antenatal groups etc and we go to baby music clubs and 1 O'Clock clubs... what will I do in Wales?? Does anyone live up there and do fun things (dd is 8 months)? Can anyone reassure me?? Am I being daft

Hi Jo, I don't live in North Wales but I'm sure there IS life up there. You're not being daft as I think anyone would feel nervous about such a big change. You'll find it very different to Brixton but there are still people who need to entertain their children there. Stuff in Bangor is your best bet, I'd have thought.

You'll need to learn some Welsh in that neck of the woods - which might not be your idea of fun, but will be an opportunity to meet people in a similar boat - ie, who are new to the area. Very best of luck to you. Why are you going?

OOh that's a good idea about going to Welsh classes, I wasn't going to bother as DD will go to a bilingual school and I hoped she would teach me! It would allow me to meet people though so I will defo look into it.

We are moving so DD can grow up in the countryside and be nearer the grandparents.

DP has to work in London 2 days a week though so I am anxious about getting lonely.
