hello noma - I am 37 1/2 - does that count as old - I guess I must be knocking on a bit although I don't feel that old! I live just outside of Bath with a 14 month old - there is an enormous network of mums in Bath - have you been down to manvers Street?

Hello noma, perhaps you can advise where to meet/what to do with little people (toddlers as opposed to short people...God I am tired and delirious). Hope to see you tomrw. G'night.

noma · 24/08/2004 14:21

Hi,
I am a mother of a 3yr old boy and 2 month old girl. I live just south of Bath.
I am currently working on a new business venture and intending having clothes parties were Gap, Old Navy and Nike produce would be available for less than half the normal retail price. If you are interested and or would like to widen your circle of frioends, please email me. Iwould be interested to know specifically what items of clothing (Baby Gap and Kids Gap available) you would consider buying.

amandadesigns · 07/09/2004 15:15

Oops! My email address for the Gap parties is :[email protected]

hi noma ,
I'm 42 too( that rhymes!!) and I live between Bath and Bristol, my children are a bit older than yours but if you'd like to meet up for a chat and a coffee (or whatever)I'm up for that.
I don't know how you're fixed for transport but I'm in Bath a lot for work anyway so it'd be no problem for me.

noma · 12/09/2004 10:35

Hi waterbug Yes i would like to meet up for coffee sometime ilive close to bath so next time your in bath give us a time and we will meet up for a chat!

hello noma, sorry about the long silence,( computer trouble!),have you met up with anybody yet?
If you're still up for it, I can be in Bath on wednesday, so let me know on here or do the 'contact another talker' bit.
I know you must be 'very' pregnant by now and if you don't feel like it don't worry, that's ok.

noma · 01/10/2004 14:36

Hi waterbug Thanks for the offer i wouldnt mind a cup of tea and a chat! Wednesday will be ok if you dont mind my two year old tagging along! I am usually in Bath in the morning as i find this time is better for me and the youngster so if thats ok perhaps you could pick the place.

waterbug · 01/10/2004 20:33

hi noma, just seen your post,I've only got a minute right now, so I'll try and think of a good place for wednesday and get back to you tomorrow.

GreatExpectations · 02/10/2004 10:53

I dont live in your area but I am an older mum and feel quite isolated sometimes, am doing all the rounds of the groups etc and have really worked at it but it would just be nice to talk to others who know how I am feeling.I hope you don't mind.....

Thanks Sobernow,I am 48 although everybody tells me I look a lot younger, which I guess will be important for ds.i have a twenty year old an eighteen year old both at university and a fifteen year old who is doing GCSE at school.I am thrilled to have such a beautiful son and would'nt want it any other way but wish I could have such a good network in my area.

GreatExpectations · 02/10/2004 12:16

forgot to say my ds is a year old in two weeks time.

noma · 03/10/2004 16:23

Its nice to read all your stories about been an older mom when i went to the health visitor in the early days, she was part-time and didnt know me she asked me if i was his nannie i didnt take to kindly to that and never went back again.

noma hello!
wednesday morning is fine by me, I've been trying to think of somewhere to meet up that would be suitable for your 2 year old but I'm afraid I can't think of anywhere.
the thing is that when my dds were that age we were living somewhere else so I'm not up on these kinds of places in Bath, maybe you know somewhere?there must be somewhere like a wacky warehouse etc or similar?
also - hi greatexpectation, don't let it get to you, just enjoy your little boy.I know how you feel though when it comes to playgroups etc, it can be a bit weird when you're there and everybody else is twenty years younger than you.Anyway, come and talk on here, we can be the ancient mums club.

I really don't feel ancient although I realise I am probably one of the oldest 'new mums'.Hey what a gift!!! Thanks it would be great to talk sometimes.

waterbug · 04/10/2004 10:32

sorry greatexpectations, didn't mean to imply that you are ancient.

noma · 04/10/2004 18:59

Hi waterbug perhaps garfunkels for coffee they do welcome children but its nothing like wacky warehouse or we could try zany zone but i dont fancy trying to grab my two year old in the play area as i am a bit less mobile at just 7 weeks to go with number two child?

OP posts:
waterbug · 04/10/2004 19:28

hi noma - garfunkels is ok by me, I don't mind anyway as I haven't got any children in tow.
how about 10.30am, would that be ok for you?
how are we going to recognize each other?well, I know you are very pregnant at the moment so that would narrow it down for me...
how about we meet outside and I'll just look out for pregnant woman with pushchair?

GreatExpectations · 05/10/2004 09:45

hey no problem waterbug, just wish I could join you for coffee...
