Moving to Cambridge and need some mummy friends

Hi there all.

I am moving my family to Cambridge from London and know very little people, especially other mummies like myself there. I am a young 32 ;) with a one year old and an 18month old. We are moving near Royston temporarily but would be willing to meet anyone in or around Cambridge. Let me know if you fancy a coffee/prosecco? or if you know of any groups? Meetups? or great toddler baby groups.
Im slightly terrified of moving and knowing no-one apart from the in-laws!!

Please also recommend and great places to visit? Swimming classes? Ballet classes? for my toddler not me!!!

Though we are now in The North, I grew up in Cambridge and spent a chunk of summer there this year, rediscovering with my boy (now 5) some of the things I loved doing as a kid in and around Cambridge.

The University museums are great fun and free. Sedgwick Museum for dinosaurs, Arch & Anth for totem poles and canoes, Scott Polar Institute for arctic explorers, Fitzwilliam for Egyptian mummies and knights in armour...

Good trips out round Cambridge include Wandlebury Ring and Wimpole Home Farm. The botanic gardens near the station have a great programme of family activities too.

Don't miss the Mill Road Winter Fair on 2 December (millroadwinterfair.org) - it's a great event with lots of local organisations getting involved.

Reed is lovely, there used to be a lovely place to eat called The Mill if it still there.

You wont need to go into Cambridge unless you particularly want to.

I lived in Barley (albeit 15 years ago now) and there were loads of baby groups around in the local villages including one that met at Wimpole Hall.

Reed is closer to Saffron Walden than Cambridge, there is always plenty going on in the villages, Newport, Great Chesterford, Heydon, Elmdon and Saffron Walden itself.
