Any mums in the Leamington Spa area?

I am mum to Max, 19 months and have recently moved to Leamington with my partner. Would love to broaden our social life and find some little playmates for Max.

Hi guys. Solihull meet up sounds great. Might as well share the ride....I don't mind driving if you (LunarSea) would like to have a drink. I had better keep my wits about me as its my first time....don't want to disgrace myself. Oh dear, I sound like a bit of a lush....honest I'm not.

Maximom - if you want to send me a message via "Contact a Talker" I'll get in touch to fix lifts (don't worry I wouldn't be drinking anyway, and I probably know my way around the area better than you do yet). Meetup is going to be at the Orange Tree, so not far for us anyway as it's midway(ish) between Warwick and Solihull.

Lunarsea I asked on the campsite thread that you probably won't go back to, do you sail?

LunarSea · 15/07/2004 16:24

Lemonice - not these days (dh doesn't like water unless it's frozen!). But I used to live near the sea, and I have a cousin who was very good (Olympic team level, except it was Moscow 1980 and they didn't go in the end).

LunarSea · 15/07/2004 22:24

Oh and I suppose I should addd to that, that "LunarSea" was originally the name of a boat.

islandgirl · 17/07/2004 23:00

hi there! I am fairly close to Leamington, and have 2 ds, 23 months and nearly 4. Lots to do in the area, - have you moved from far?

Maximom · 17/07/2004 23:09

Wow that was quick!
Lived in Knightcote for 3yrs before move ( no one under 65 there though). Originally from Birmingham & partner from Oxford so no friends in area. How sad are we!

not so quick this time!! Are you a sahm or just looking for things to do at weekends? Hatton Country World is fantastic, and if you buy an annual pass, fantastic value for money. Lots of toddler groups, swimming etc, but feel free to contact me for other info. Oh and welcome to this part of the world - love it here.

LunarSea · 18/07/2004 02:42

I'm in the Leamington area too (and second islandgirl's suggestion of Hatton). Why don't you come along to the Solihull meetup (I could even give you a lift from Leamington if like) - see here

lemonice · 18/07/2004 14:35

Just popped in to say Hello, I'm in Leamington too but a bit of a sightseer on the toddler front I'm afraid. My children are teens.

Jaybee · 18/07/2004 15:29

hello, I am not too far away - just over in South Northants but my two are 10 & 7 so a bit older than yours. I agree with the others though that Hatton Park is a great day out - we should have a Mumsnet meet up there!!

aku · 18/07/2004 17:49

I am in kenilworth but my Daughter is 5

Maximom · 19/07/2004 19:57

Sorry, I don't seem to very good at getting back to people now I've started this.
As you were all kind enough to respond would anyone like to meet up on Saturday for a coffee or in the park ( unless someone can think of something better).

OP posts:
LunarSea · 19/07/2004 21:21

Any particular park? I should be around on Saturday if you like - I might even make it in to Lemonice's shop at last....

aku · 20/07/2004 14:31

Would love to come to a meetup but not this sat as I have to go to a christening

Maximom · 23/07/2004 15:51

Sorry left it a bit late but had problems with Server! LunarSea, If you get this message in time could meet in Jepherson Park by the clock tower. I am usually there around 10ish at the weekends or if thats too early could make it about 2.30.
Aku, let me know when you are around and we could fix something up.......anyone else out there like to meet up?

I have a few things I need to do in the morning - but I'll try to bring ds along at 10 - might be a few minutes after though. He's rising 3, blond, and will probably be wearing a red, white and blue stripy t-shirt. I'm about 5'6" with dark brown shoulder length hair (and not as thin as I ought to be)

LunarSea · 28/07/2004 15:19

Maximom (or anyone else) do you want to come along to the Solihull meetup on Friday? We'll have to book a table so need an idea of numbers.
