Asian mums in Harrow and surrounfing areas.

Hi there..

Was just wondering if there are any asian mum's that would like to meet up..
I have a DD aged 10.5 months now and would like to meet up with other mums for chats etc..
let me know..

Well I live very near Harrow in Pinner but I'm not asian so guess you wouldn't want to meet me.

Out of interest why are you asking to meet only asain mothers?

Nothing sinister...
A few other mothers mentioned that asian mothers felt uncomfortable with websites like this and I wanted to prove them wrong by telling them that a lot of them use this sort of website and are actively participating..
But it seems that I might be proved wrong.
I live in Kenton thinking of moving to Pinner...
I would love to meet up with you..

I'm pretty sure that mothers of many different races, cultures, countries etc use this site.
Perhaps your request for asian mothers that lived in Harrow was limiting.
If you want to show other asian mothers that asian women already use this site why not just ask? Start a thread entitled what nationality are you and what is your parents background.
Then if people wish to share the info with you they can.

Re meeting, do you drive at all? Some mums from Kenton throught to Watford are all meeting on the 24th July. Can't remeber where but will find out if you are interested.

I do drive... But I am not familiar with Watford at all .
I think your idea about the thread is a good one..
Will follow it through..
I guess the way I started it was not the best.
I guess you live and learn.

i was going to suggest that too thomcat, i think its friday 23rd we're going out to the mill in bricket wood. if you look up the thread in mumsnet meetups under watford meet up. you're more than welcome to join us. i live in watford/bushey so not too far away either.

are you asian yourself? i am asian and also wish to meet other asian mums (however, i live in southampton, so meeting up with you may not be feasible!?).
The reason i want to meet other asian women is beacause i don't really know any! i have a ds who is 2 years old and i would like me and him to see a few more brown faces.
i have alot of "white" friends & mums that i know as i am married to an english guy but i think it is important for us both to get to know other asian people.
My family are not local so hence we're not part of an asian community and therefore we do not know the local asian people in southampton.
i am not being prejudiced when i ask if there are any other asian women out there, only trying to get know a few!! (if possible)

Hi Rohey, yes, you must come to one of the Watford meetups. Found this thread which has a few more names on it, even though it is quite old. You may be able to contact them via CAT. Sis came to our evening meetup at the beginning of June. Plus there are lots of Asian mums at the playgroup I mentioned to you (many with PC access but just haven't heard about MN).

The thing I love about MN is that everyone can be anyone (colour, gender, background), but we're all parents, so perhaps promote that to other asian mums and they'll soon realise it's a great site (but personally I haven't heard that anyone has found MN or other sites intimidating (or whatever) because of race. I think it really comes down to who has access to a pc and who wants to give and take advice about parenting and respect each others view..

I might just come along to watford.. Sounds like a blast..

Rose04 get in touch if you like, a trip donw to London or vice versa might be good..

I was looking for some asian mums group and came across yours but unfortunately I live too far all teh way in Leicestershire. I have a 2 in jan old Daughther. KNow anyone who'd suit me to chat or meetup sopmetime?
