Does anyone know of any dance classes or similar for my 4 year old daughter in the Fair Oak, Horton Heath, Hedge End, Durley kind of area of Hampshire (SO32). Also anyone with similar age or slightly older daughter fancy meeting up at Marwell/Crazy Kingdom or the like?

what kind of dancing are you after?
There is a dance studio in Eastleigh I am thinking of finding Ballet classes for my 3 year old

zophiella · 20/03/2007 20:27

Dont mind, any kind of dancing, Eastleigh is do-able, she is at pre school mon to thurs mornings but free all other times. I know the Esporta Hampshire club does ballet on a monday at 4.30pm but you have to be a member (which I am not) and I am trying to investigate if there are any ballet classes in horton heath village hall as someone mentioned to try there.

I'm a member at esporta - didn't realise about the ballet though will look into that thanks

Hi - my daughter went to Spinners Dance Studio at Botley Centre. They do all kinds of dance lessons, competitions and shows for the parents. 01489 781513 [email protected]

Not sure if they have a website.

Do you know the name of the Eastleigh dance studio so I can try calling them. Also I dont know if you have come across it before but the Vine Centre in Curdridge has yogabugs on a friday at 3.45pm which is really nice.

Thank you RainbowWalker, that sounds perfect, will call them tomorrow, Botley is very handy.

I work full time so find it difficult to take dd to things if they aren't at the weekend

zophiella · 20/03/2007 20:48

whoopsfallenoveragain, it just occurred to me that I think Wyvern College in Fair Oak do a Saturday morning ballet class for little ones - I try and keep weekends free so never signed up for that one. Also I have a feeling the Horton Heath one is a Saturday too but I will keep you posted when I get more details.

Oh thanks!
My boss sends her dd to nursery at wyvern so may see if she can keep an eye out for info

RainbowWalker · 20/03/2007 22:12

Seems there are quite a few in Eastleigh and around about

zophiella · 20/03/2007 22:39

Are there any other things going on in the area in the afternoon (or any time on a friday) that my 4 year old daughter might find entertaining?

Maraca Jack's or some other music group?
Dynamo Gym maybe?
Sticky Bobs or some other art club?
Have you thought about putting her name down for Rainbows yet, they usually have quite long waiting lists...

RainbowWalker · 21/03/2007 20:33

Not a regular weekly activity necessarily but I just thought about this one - Manor Farm membership is great and they always have loads going on over the Easter period and throughout the summer - this is also the ideal time of year to start your membership and keep popping back to see all the baby farm animals growing up etc...

www.hants.gov.uk/countryside/manorfarm/

We had membership the year before my twins started school and dd in particular used to love our regular visits to see the animals etc (membership also gives you free parking in the country park as well which is fab for walks and summer picnics and visits to the playground at toplands as well)

hope that helps?

zophiella · 22/03/2007 18:53

Thank you RainbowWalker, will look into them all, sounds good.
I took her to Botley Centre (Village Hall) for Spinners pre school dance class this afternoon. She thought she was going for a ballet class but it was a Latin/Disco/Ballroom type mix - she seemed a little overwhelmed with so many different moves and routines, but I am sure if she sticks with it she will have a whale of a time!
