Southampton Mums- Any Good Toddler Groups

Hi I live in St. Denys in Southampton and was wondering if anyone knows of any good toddler groups. My dd (22 months) is painfully shy and I need to get her used to being around other children. I have been to a couple and found them really cliquey and not very friendly. Please recommend me a friendly group!! Thanks in advance!!

Hi, I live near Woolston. There is a group in Merryoak it is a Surestart group and meets in Merryoak Community Centre on a Thursday between 1pm and 3pm. I found them to be lovely there and not cliquey (I know that feeling!), but I haven't been for several months because my ds is always asleep during the session. If you go to this site this they list toddler groups that are closer to where you live either in the events section or on the noticeboard. Don't be put off by the fact it's a nappy website.

Heheh that's my site!
Have you tried the Monday morning one in Wellington Rd, Bitterne Park? I went there for the first time this week and found it really friendly.
Also the Tues am one at the little church next to the new Tesco. They both have a little more structure than the St Denys pm ones so you're not twiddling your thumbs iyswim. Teddybear Toddlers at Highfield Church Friday 9.45 is even more structured with circle singing etc.
Don't know if it's your bag at all but I'm hosting a Nappuccino at StDenys Community Ctr this Saturday 2-4pm. It has an eco nappy 'flavour' but anyone is welcome and there'll be fun stuff for small kids, raffle and refreshments.

Thanks!!! I will definately give them a go next week. Will also be coming to the Community Centre on Sat, it's at the end of my road!!

I'm coming to the Nappuccino on Saturday. I've been looking forwards to it for weeks. I definately don't get out enough! See you there.

Well if anyone feels brave enough to 'come out' I've got brown hair with a blonde streak and a very handsome (but silent) blonde 2yr old.

I'll see you there! I am tall with brown hair and a 22 month old dd who will be running away from me at every opportunity! Oh and I'm 26 weeks pg, you can't miss me. Might have my dp with me too. If I do he'll be the grumpy looking one (because he'll want to be at home watching the football)!
