Anyone in these areas or round about interested in meeting up in the near future?

What have you got in mind? I'm in Streatham but I don't mind driving over.

amysoph · 16/06/2004 16:42

Not sure - new to all this, hoping someone might help me out here! Maybe meeting somewhere outdoors, park etc. Haven't got own transport, but I can reach most parts of SE London on public transport. I am a SAHM mum, so any day of the week is good. My 2 dds are 3, and 11 weeks.

Oooh Oooh, Me! Me! I live in Lewisham, work 4 days a week, not Tuesdays.

How about Greenwich park?

motherinferior · 17/06/2004 13:53

I'm in Catford, work Mon-Thurs.

Twinkie · 17/06/2004 13:56

Am in Sidcup so anywhere is fine by me.

What about Danson Park - just near the A2 - they have a boating lake and a sandpit (I think) and lots of other stuff - can always meet at mine too!!

Work most days but can always book a days hols or we could do it at weekend!!

slug · 17/06/2004 15:59

Oooh sandpit! The sluglet will love that. Is there somewhere nearby where we can but G&T's and sit with our feet int he sand pretending to be on a beach somewhere exotic?

Twinkie · 17/06/2004 16:00

Sure the pub can furnish us with G&Ts or I can sneak a flask in!!

Marina · 17/06/2004 16:07

Can do a summer park venue! Danson is nice but a bit inaccessible by public transport...Greenwich Park is good too. It has a sandpit also (no pub ) and a great playground.
I'm in New Eltham, not far from Twinkie, amysoph. Welcome to Mumsnet.

Twinkie · 17/06/2004 16:09

Oooohhh did not know that Greenwich had a sandpit!!

Think you can get a bus along the Bexley Road and through Blackfen and get off just by Danson Marina - near Halfords!!

amysoph · 17/06/2004 21:27

Thankyou everyone who replied - was worried no-one would!!

Greenwich Park is lovely, I'd be up for that, don';t know the other park mentioned, but I'm sure I can get there if that's the one people want.

LOVE the thought of G and Ts while sat in the sandpit, Slug! Have just got back from hols, anything to keep that vibe going!

If people's workdays clash, a Sat or a Sun is fine. What do people think?

amysoph · 21/06/2004 21:00

Anybody out there??!!

Or will I be meeting up on my own?

OP posts:
slug · 22/06/2004 14:09

I'm up for a Saturday morning in the sandpit. Dh is working this Saturday (for a change) and the sluglet is always open to the suggestion of swings and slides.

amysoph · 22/06/2004 20:37

Slug, if the weather's good, I'd def be up for that. . How old is your sluglet? My two are 3, and 13 weeks. Dd 1 is also very fond of a good sesh in the park. 11-11.30 ish okay for you?

Anyone else care to come too?

OP posts:
slug · 23/06/2004 11:40

The sluglet is 2 and a half. 11-11.30 is fine, weather permitting. Shall we do a secret sign to identify ourselves?

Twinkie · 23/06/2004 11:50

I can do Sats or Sundays but only every other week and not for the next 2!!

DD is nearly 4 (next week) and am 20 weeks pregnant.

Ilona · 23/06/2004 12:34

We (me and the boy 8weeks) are in Eltham... would like to come as well. When are you meeting ? And Where (me stubid ???)

Ilona · 23/06/2004 14:23

MARINA !! I'm in New Eltham also !!! We should meet up one day (if we haven't met already . ) Small world !

amysoph · 23/06/2004 16:19

Slug, LOL at secret sign, I have a pink shoulder bag and dd1 will be wearing a pink baseball cap (she wears it everywhere!) Whereabouts in the park? it is Greenwich Park, isnt it? is the sandpit nr the swings?

Ilona this Sat, Greenwich park, come along!

Marina · 24/06/2004 13:50

oh, I can't make this one, small matter of ds' 5th birthday party. Have a good time everyone, and please count me in for the next one.

Ilona, hello! Great to see another New Elthamite on the boards. I have a ds of (very, very nearly) 5 and a dd of 10 months and live off Southwood Road...would very much like to meet up sometime.
Are you in touch with Lewisham and Greenwich NCT? We finally have some kind volunteers organising meet-ups in our area, but they're all midweek when I am working . Hoping to set up some Saturday coffee mornings in the Autumn for parents who have gone back to paid work.
And have you been told about Little Fishes? It's such a nice, welcoming mums and babies group at the Novar Christian Fellowship in Novar Road (nb you don't have to be remotely Christian to attend and they won't try and convert you). I really miss it.
If you are interested in either, mail me via Contact Another Talker.

slug · 24/06/2004 20:04

Right, that's it then, 11am (ish) in the sandpit in Greenwich Park, weather permitting. I'll be the very large lady with a Kiwi accent and short hair chasing the improbably blonde and cute sluglet. We have a cow print hat tied to the pushchair. (that's the secret sign girls)

amysoph · 24/06/2004 23:17

See you there, slug - don't know what weather is predicted for Sat - shall we do a raincheck Fri eve? hope it will be sunny!

Ilona, will you be able to come?

OP posts:
Ilona · 25/06/2004 09:29

Sat not good for me... see you maybe next time ! Have nice time

amysoph · 26/06/2004 08:57

Rain forecast a little later today - shall we postpone, Slug? Its looking a bit gloomy! I'm free most weekends, so can easily rearrange.

OP posts:
slug · 26/06/2004 09:47

Well, I have to go and pick up the sluglet from her grandparents now. I'll take her to the park anyway because it's close. If you're there, I'll see you, but I see your point about the weather.
