Wow! We filled a thread!

Hope you all find this new one!

Our evening was great, had a lovely time. kids were all very well behaved. dd sleeping in our bedroom is a nightmare tho - she's sooo noisy!

we need a 3rd bedroom

we're off for Sunday lunch at The Botanist later YUM!

2cute, we're scheduled to have skids that weekend but not confirmed yet. if we do, not sure if i could come and don't want to invite 2 extra kids and dh as that'd be rather cheeky! if we don't then we'll be there

it's far too early for a Sunday!

puds have just had to make a doctors appointment for ds1 - his cough is getting really bad and has been lingering forever. Can only get docs apppointment for 10am tomorrow. Saying that might even take him to A&E if dh gets home soon, as he is not very well.

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 05/02/2007 16:01

Why can't you call DS2 Darwin then?

uwila · 05/02/2007 16:04

I have a friend who was mad about Australia. She had a rabbit and named him Wooloo. What do you say? Woo Loo Foxie?

pudding77 · 05/02/2007 16:04

No probs quokka, I think we pretty much caught up today anyway . Hope ds1 is ok & gets better soon.

Got a quick question about 1yo behaviour - the last couple of days ds has started having mini-tantrums if I say no to anything or take something off him, and today he deliberately (sp?) bit me. Now, I can guess what the answer to this will be, but is this normal? I am guessing he's just boundary-testing again and will pass but just thought I'd ask!

quokka · 05/02/2007 16:05

I actually like Adelaide as a name or Addy for short

uwila · 05/02/2007 16:06

Or Woolloomooloo

quokka · 05/02/2007 16:07

normal, you just need to teach him whats right and wrong as he does't know it yet.

uwila · 05/02/2007 16:07

Oh, it's only the very beginning Pud. Terrible twos actually span from age 1 to 3.

pudding77 · 05/02/2007 16:10

yeah, that's what I thought! When he did it today while I was trying to get his shoes & socks on, I put him on the floor and ignored him. He soon came back for a hug!

uwila · 05/02/2007 16:14

My DS got put on the naughty step this weekend for throwing my clinique power in the toilet. As I was telling hin in no uncertain terms that he was a "naughty boy!" he just sat there giggling. I got madder, he giggled louder. I put him in bed... he stopped giggling. Cheeky little bugger.

2Cute · 05/02/2007 16:17

ooh sfx - so excited for you.

I am SUPER broody. I was sure I was pg last month, turns out I was only late and cried over it, duh.

Sorry for being a wet blanket but I'm feeling a bit crappy. I don't know why I let my MIL get to me. I've already made it clear that I don't want her ringing me but she doesn't seem to get it through her head so I had one of her nice phone calls today. I even had her number barred from ringing me, so what does she do? Ring me from other numbers! Hugs would be greatly appreciated. Paddle - Fancy joining forces and becoming witch slayers?

2Cute · 05/02/2007 16:22

pud - and so it begins....

Quokka - hope your DS gets well soon. I found Buttercups is quite good.

sfxmum · 05/02/2007 16:41

considering i have spent the last 1hr curled up in the sofa falling asleep, while dd pokes me in the eye to keep me awake, not sure how i would fare in a pregnancy

puds - dd had the most amusing little tantrums at that age, now it's not so funny and not so little anymore enjoyoh and don't start using 'no' just yet it will be worn out by the time you really need it

2happy - ignore the insane lunatic or out do her scare her witless sometimes that works

sfxmum · 05/02/2007 16:44

i meant 2Cute sorry 2happy is from my post natal club and she just had a baby, sorry clearly all i can think about

lemonaid · 05/02/2007 16:52

puds Oh, normal normal normal. "They" don't tell you before you have children that the terrible twos often set in at around eleven months or earlier. Although now DS is two he's having stranger tantrums e.g. if I take off my shoes when he doesn't want me to (?!?).

2Cute -- you could just have your answering machine screen all calls and only call back people you want to talk to?

pudding77 · 05/02/2007 18:33

thanks everyone. Sfx, good idea about 'no', I found myself saying it so much at the minute!

{{{{{hugs}}}}} to 2cute

xoxo · 05/02/2007 18:39

hi everyone

just a quick pop in whilst kids are watching tv afore bed.
looking forward to nice cold glass of pinot and slobbing in front of sofa.
wish I was more cultured/ skinny/ intellectual.
nah, will have wine and slob instead.

wonder if there's any chocolate in the house....

byw Quokka - not THAT kind of rooting in the cupboard

quokka · 05/02/2007 19:09

yeah right whatever you say oxo! Root away

quokka · 05/02/2007 19:10

I was reading an article about Cate Blanchett and she was explaining what a "hungry bum" is to this other famous actor - do you know what it is?

foxabout2pop · 05/02/2007 19:19

Hi everyone

hugs to 2 cute
fingers crossed for sfx

Am so tired I cannot speak, even with my keyboard!!

ComeOVeneer · 05/02/2007 19:28

Hungry bum? I can't even begin to think.
DD never did the terrible two's but DS is more than making up for it. In a way it is better as the tantrums are short and sharp and then he is back to his goodnatured self again. Where as dd whinges and whines and sulks for hours, much worse imo.

Paddlechick666 · 05/02/2007 19:29

go on then Quokka, tell us what a hungry bum is?

altho i've got a few gay mates who might have a take on it!

foxabout2pop · 05/02/2007 19:35

A hungry bum is one which demands chocolate, taken through the mouth then swallowed and goes down to bum via tum - innit??
