Ok, so are we truly international? How far across the globe has the meetup phenomenom spread? Has anyone crossed international borders to attend a meet up? Need to know asap. Either post or email me.

Cheers my dears.

By the way, can only apologise for seemingly insane triple posting, something very weird is going on with my computer!

Also, I meant phenomenon.

too much coffee

Well I met up with one at lunchtime in SW London. Is that far from you?

bettys · 02/06/2004 15:55

I think you've both had too much coffee (love the glasses on your head CD - how many eyes have you got?)Like the aliens in Toy Story
Haven't heard of any happening outside the Uk but what about people who meet up accidently on holiday? I met another MNer while on holiday in Corsica although I was only a lurker then.

JJ · 02/06/2004 16:13

Essbee came over here (CH) and we met up with LIZS one afternoon. Does that count?

Janh · 02/06/2004 16:27

2 years ago I met up with Malmomum - in Malmo! Didn't go specially but that was great. (I miss Malmomum...)

Last Easter I met SenoraPostrophe in Spain, and this Oct will be seeing her again when she marries the Senor.

(And met tamum in Edinburgh last month but I don't suppose Scotland counts )

Do I get a prize?

Janh · 02/06/2004 16:27

And there was a meet-up in NZ but they all live there.

Blu · 02/06/2004 16:30

I put my bags on train seats (especially when really packed) in case a MUMSNETTER comes and sits next to me.
(sorry Willow. Haven't strayed out of S London for meet-ups yet...)

tigermoth · 02/06/2004 19:19

hey bettys, am I to assume you let me recommend mumsnet to you as we sat on the beach while all along you knew about it already!

Heathcliffscathy · 02/06/2004 19:52

why do you need to know asap willow? are you doing a school project that needs handing in tomorrow

Piffleoffagus · 02/06/2004 19:53

I know Galaxy toddles off to many meet ups around the UK...

Hulababy · 02/06/2004 19:57

Furthest I have done is Sheffield to Newcastle - to meet with Popsycal and Becca

Normally I just do Sheffield to Derby meets, but also done Sheffield centre ones and Riply too.

I did Manchester to London via Liverpool for one. Think Jan's winning though

tamum · 02/06/2004 20:05

I did wonder whether we might count, Janh, but decided Scotland/England was pushing it a bit I didn't know you'd met SenoraPostrophe too! V. impressed.

Sophable, I think it is homework, kind of One of the many other threads willow2 started said she's writing an article with a deadline.

sibble · 02/06/2004 22:01

we did have a NZ meetup - 2 of us from Auckland (Britabroad was away), 1 from christchurch and 1 from Wellington.

carla · 02/06/2004 22:24

willow2 · 03/06/2004 10:54

Not international, but one of the trainee midwives who looked after me when admitted this pregnancy was a mumsnetter - we realised when talking about Nigella's Brownie recipe.

SenoraPostrophe · 03/06/2004 20:48

I've had 3 Spanish "meet-ups" so far - with janh, bunny2 and costamum.

And I was very tempted to make a diversion to Colchester to meet up with sm et al on one of their 80s nights. But we're not visiting this summer now. Maybe next year.

mammya · 03/06/2004 20:50

Never been as far as abroad for a meet up but to Tate Britain, Godstone Farm in Surrey and a restaurant in Kensington. Haven't read the whole thread so you might know that already, if so, sorry!

bettys · 03/06/2004 22:13

But tigermoth I'm sure I said it was through the Mumsnet travel reviews I found the holiday although that was as much as I knew about it then, hadn't really explored the site. Wasn't there someone else there as well who was an MNer?

Batters, I wasn't a proper mumsnetter, I'd only used the review section, didn't discover the talk section till I got home and then I was hooked!
