Hi Sparky - I live in Blackburn but more towards Bolton - I have a car and am quite prepared to come to Bolton. Have 6 month old DS and would love to meet up.

I am back at work next week (Wed, Thurs & Fri) but happy to meet up any Monday or Tuesday.

Let me know what you think

And welcome to MN

sparkymummy · 15/01/2007 19:59

Hiya ceebee!

Sorry its taken me so long to reply but spent ages trying to find my message again!! Is there an easy way to use this meetup board as there are sooo many messages??

Sorry about the going back to work, I am still deciding whether to go back myself as my pay is so rubbish that with childcare and transport etc I won't be bringing in more than about £20 a week, and that doesn't make it seem worth the extra stress!

Meeting up would be good, I go to a breastfeeding clinic on Mon so Tues would be the best day for me.

Have you started weaning your DS? We waited til the magic 6 months as my man seemed happy enough on milk, but he is loving eating now (although didn't really get it til about a week ago really!)

Thanks for the welcome, I'm usually on ivillage but thought I'd give mumsnet a go... still trying to find my way round though !

ceebee is lovely ! and her DS is goooooorgeous !

Ceebee74 · 15/01/2007 20:07

Lulumama - you have made me blush - though have to agree about my DS being gorgeous

Sparky - the quickest way to find your messages is to click on 'Threads I'm On' at the top as this will take you to all the threads that you have posted messages on and any messages that have been posted since (hope this makes sense).

If you suggest some nice kid-friendly places in Bolton (I only really know the town centre, being a shopaholic and all!) and let me know which Tuesday you want to meet - I have nothing planned for the next few Tuesdays.

Re weaning, just started today (DS was 6 months yesterday) - had a couple of false starts with it before Christmas but then DS got ill and it was a struggle to get milk down him, let alone anything else!

lulumama · 15/01/2007 20:08

don;t be daft ceebee ! you are lovely, very easy to chat to !

sparkymummy · 15/01/2007 20:17

Thanks for that ceebee, just seen that link! As for child friendly... not really many I don't think. I've taken him to Whittakers, Rhode Island Coffee place and the Costa cafe thats opened up in Waterstones, but non of them seemed what I'd call child friendly, except perhaps Rhode Island as they did have a toy in there!!!!

What about pub-type places maybe out of town or somewhere you could get to? We could meet for lunch?

sparkymummy · 16/01/2007 19:53

Good idea, will try and think of one I can get to! In the meantime I'll tell you a bit about myself... as I said I am first time mum to a gorgeous DS who is seven months old. I am on maternity leave (have extended it to a year!) but before DS I worked as a library assistant for three years, and before that I was a primary school teacher in Bolton. I got married to hubby 3 years ago. I am short, and used to be more petite than I am now (I'm too lazy/busy to get round to shifting my extra baby weight yet!LOL)... am a chocoholic and seem to spend DS nap times on the internet at the mo!! What about you?

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 16/01/2007 21:16

I guess we will have a lot in common then as I am a first-time mum, am also a chocaholic and also spend far too much time on the Internet (again, particularly when DS is asleep!).

I am an HR Advisor for an NHS trust - as I said before, I am going back a week tomorrow and DS is going into nursery. He has had 4 2-hour settling in sessions already and has been absolutely fine - he has got 2 4-hour sessions this week so the nursery have been fantastic in making the transition as easy as it can be. Wish I could be a SAHM but finances dictate that I have to go back but I have absolutely loved being at home and having the freedom to get up when we want, do what we want etc - at least this way I will have more days with DS than without.

Am tall (and big) - 3 stone overweight and doing Weightwatchers to shift it - gonna be a long process! Bought it home to me when I had to go and buy a load of new work clothes as my old ones didn't fit anymore!!

Am 32, been married for nearly 10 years ( a long time for a first-time mum I know) - we were just enjoying our life for a while.

God, I have rambled on for ages - I can tell you all this when we meet!

Here is a photo of my DS so you can see how adorable he is - even if I do say so myself! DS

Ceebee74 · 16/01/2007 21:16

Sorry - pressed post before putting the link on - here is DS

REIDnotREEDorREAD · 16/01/2007 21:20

Ceebee74 · 17/01/2007 12:51

Reidy - what date is half-term and we can see if Sparky can make that date aswell?

Are you ok to come to Bolton?

REIDnotREEDorREAD · 17/01/2007 19:30

yeah, bolton is probably closer than southport to be honest. We break up for half term on the 9th feb.

sparkymummy · 17/01/2007 19:51

Ceebee your little man is gorgeous!! I can do half term I'm sure. RnotRorR are you a teacher then?

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 17/01/2007 19:55

So the Tuesday would be 15th?

Over to you Sparky - would you be ok for 15th Feb?

(BTW Reidy and her DS are lovely)

Ceebee74 · 17/01/2007 19:55

Am having a 'stoopid' oment - the Tuesday is the 13th so it is 13th Feb.

REIDnotREEDorREAD · 17/01/2007 20:50

yes i am a Geography teacher - for my sins!

REIDnotREEDorREAD · 17/01/2007 20:51

can do the 13th.

sparkymummy · 18/01/2007 17:13

Feb seems ages away but am sure I can do the 13th

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 18/01/2007 17:24

Fab - 13th Feb it is - I shall put it in my 'ever so busy' social diary (it is only 3 and a bit weeks away - will be here before we know it).

Sparky - any ideas on a venue? I would love to offer to come and pick you up but there is no way my car would hold 2 adults, 2 babies and 2 pushchairs - it only just about holds me, DS and his pushchair (I guess you know that feeling don't you Reidy??)

REIDnotREEDorREAD · 18/01/2007 19:58

yes i do ceebee, i would offer too but funnily enough, my car wont hold any more than ceebees! (we have the same car sparky!)

yey three and a bit weeks till i break up! woo hoo!
