New Member & new to Wakefield area

Dear All

I have recently had a baby (3 weeks old) and as i am new to Wakefield would be grateful of some recomendations of good places to go with baby - walks, shops with good feeding and changing facilities and also mum and baby groups in the area so i can get out and about to meet new people.

ps have you seen the meet up for leeds on feb 23rd thread? Might be a good chance for you to meet some other mn mums local to you?

Hi there.I am pretty new to Wakefield myself and have just joined a baby and toddler group in Wrenthorpe village hall on a Monday at 10am.Also similar one on Fridays at Walton village hall at same time. I have a ten week old baby and my sister-in-law is also now living in the area with a 12 week old. We also have started Flipper Babes in Oulton Hall in Leeds. There is a breastfeeding gp at the Castle Children's centre,Barnsley Road on a Fri morning I think, 10.30 for an hour or so. There is also a baby massage gp at the Children's centre, but not got round to that one yet!

Hi dancingbaby and shauna! There's quite a few of us from just outside Wakefield - as Gingermonkey says there's a meet up planned for 23rd Feb at Jellybeans in Denby Dale. Keep an eye on the thread and hope to see you!

Haven't worked out how to access the Feb 23rd thread; how do I do that? Where is JellyBeans? I know the Denby Dale road fairly well, upto Cumberworth anyway.

If you go to topics list, meet ups and it's the barnsley/huddersfield/wakefield meet up I can't do a link (because I am useless!) It's quite a long thread, but basically we are meeting up on the 23rd in the afternoon at about 1pm. I think there will be quite a few of us, so it would be a good chance for you to meet some other mums and get some advice on what to do in the area.
Jellybeans is left at the HSBC bank in Denby Dale, in Springfield Mills. A few of us went last week also and I think at least 2 of us are meeting up next thurs morning(8th) if you want to come along. I'll keep you posted on this thread. Unfortunately Wakefield isn't exactly brimming with good baby friendly places, M&S is about the best there is!
