Walthamstow mums?

I am in Streatham but moving to Walthamstow soon and interested in learning more about the area, what the toddler groups, schools, parks etc are like. Would like to meet some local mums, feel apprehensive about moving to somewhere new after 10 years in south London!
My daughter is 16 months old.
Anybody out there? (So far have only met Chloemummy)

Hi ladies

have just seen your responses - are you still around?

Am not moving to Walthamstow just yet - hopefully next couple of months - near South Grove School - would be interested if anyone knows the school as it seems rather big (500 kids).

But am particularly interested to know what there is in the way of toddler groups, parks, playgroups etc - is there a Surestart centre?

thanks again ladies

Hi Kerelene

I know South Grove school. They have just built it. I think it only opened about a year ago. I think it is very big although I looked round when my dd was starting school. She is in Y1. She goes to St Saviours CoE school and they only take in one class per year. I did like it at south grove though as the ht get pupils in y5 to show me round so I could ask what questions I wanted to. surestart have a building in Queens Road it is the wooden built one next to the park. They have a nursery there and an after school club. My DD is in the afterschool club there. I live off Markhouse road - where are you moving to? My dd went to a nursery in leytonstone it it called Snowberry nursery and it is the only council run nursery left in the borough. It was extremely good. If you want to know anymore please ask.
