Someone said "Oh, Frannyandzooey, nice to meet you, I'm wearing my Mooncup right now!"

Someone else said "I thought you would be a lot more knitted looking"

Sallystrawberry is very lovely and a lot more glam and groomed than I imagined for someone who spends half her life in a cupboard and the other half in a tent

Custy I don't think I actually spoke to you, just waved and gurned through the crowds, but you had this most incredible presence - your great beaming face was a high spot of the evening for me

and Carrie and Justine both arrived with very nice coats on indeed

Oh and when me and Greeny arrived and were still standing on the other side of the road saying "do you think that's the club, over there?", a man came up to us and said "are you looking for the Mumsnet meet?" We were quite impressed and scared.

Well that is impressive, who was he? was he a hairy-handed trucker??

FrannyandZooey · 19/11/2006 18:37

I think he was one of the club's doormen. We had only been dithering there for a minute or so, but I guess he was either rounding up all stray females, or just felt sorry for us?

mytwopenceworth · 19/11/2006 18:40

talking of men - has a man (happydaddy, WMF etc) ever come to one of the meetups?

CompletelyImpartial · 19/11/2006 18:41

Hub came last year. And tech was there too.

FrannyandZooey · 19/11/2006 18:41

Oh and a couple of random people ended up sitting in our section, not realising they had walked into a strange internet cult. They got questioned quite severely as to who they were and why they "didn't have funny names like the rest of us" ROFL

you were lucky f&z i walked up that road and couldn't find rubys! and i asked a group of random women if they were looking for the mn meet and they looked at me as if i were a loon. so i walked to marble arch looking for the place! in the end i called my other half for directions.
