How to make friends (mums) in North London?

Hi ive recently moved to crouch end in north london with my partner and 22 mth old daugher. i have attended a few mother and toddler groups but find that most people tend to stick to their own little groups and are not particularly friendly. So if there is anyone out there who can help please let me know as im desparate for adult converstation.

gella, have you tried going to the jamboree hut in finsbury park, only a bus ride away from you? it's free and quite a few crouchy mums go there. we're usually there mondays or fridays
