actually i meant some very funny moments

should lend you the half brother if you like music and cinema as well as a good laugh it is the book for you (there are sad bits too)

sfxmum · 23/11/2006 19:52

in the best tradition of cunning plans it will probably involve some degree of bribery and fear, something along the lines it actually slowly melts your brain in a plague like fashion with chocolates on the side

dd seems ready for bed it seems after much splish splashing in bath aided by indulgent father

hoxohoxohoxo · 23/11/2006 19:58

cherubs are sleeping. dh working late tonight, which has proved to be a bonus as I have been efficient enough for the two of us. Swept up rice whilst checking what's on telly: multitasking glory!!

but - point is, when kissing goodnight, both said to me 'see you later'. Now THAT'S confident, Foxy

Paddlechick666 · 23/11/2006 20:15

lol @ hoxo's LOs!

sfx, dd has been given anti-biotics by dr and i got some medised.

poor luv is really making heavy weather of it but was asleep by 6:45. don't know how long it will last but actually I'm not sure what to do with myself now LOL.

catching up on some tv i've recorded........

foxie, not a nice day - poor you. glad chocolate was on hand.

re: barbie etc this may be a battle in our house. barbie and anything bubblegum pink are banned. therefore dd will be bound to want them!

pudding77 · 23/11/2006 20:38

ds also asleep & dh just left for the pub! Hmm, another glass of wine I think lol

PC - poor dd. Ds was on antibiotics recently as well, hope she gets better soon. Btw, did you get the second Lost?

Mellow - just curious, what's the book you're reading at the minute? Sounds interesting.

mellowandreadyforchristmas · 23/11/2006 20:52

Orhan Pamuk's Snow, sfx recommended it.

Paddlechick666 · 23/11/2006 20:55

pud, i just watched the first episode of Lost and realised i forgot to tape the 2nd one again last night!

i am an eedjit! don't think there's time to get to you to watch it before Sunday's episode so guess I'll just have to figure it out.

dd still asleep, had to go check earlier. it's freaking me out LOL!

hoxohoxohoxo · 23/11/2006 21:12

we held a wake last night for Jed Bartlett.
As latecomers to West Wing, we had the pleasure of watching it all in our own time, and we watched the last episode last night, with tears in our eyes.
I actually (sadly) cooed a special meal, with desert and wine so we could pay our last respects to Jed in style.

God, this job has not come too soon I really MUST get a life

Luckily, tonight (when dh eventiually gets home0 we start on the latest series of 24

why am I paying a fortune for cable each month???

pudding77 · 23/11/2006 21:19

oxo I can't believe you did that! I've just started watching the West Wing but am only in the first series and now I know what's going to happen at the very end!

hoxohoxohoxo · 23/11/2006 21:21

Oh no you don't
FGG don't buy fro series 3/4 onwards as we have the dvds that you are v welcome to use

wake in Ireland = any excuse

pudding77 · 23/11/2006 21:21

oxo - we're the same, we pay a fortune for cable & hardly get time to watch anything!!

pudding77 · 23/11/2006 21:22

I'm taping it on E4 at the minute as they started showing it again but if they ever stop then I know who to come to...

pudding77 · 23/11/2006 21:23

Right, I'm off to bed as I need an early night! V tired and I've realised it may be down to the fact that I hadn't eaten since breakfast

hoxohoxohoxo · 23/11/2006 21:24

Will add that they are ebay specials, so only half are dodgy

harktheheraldfoxessing · 24/11/2006 06:32

Hi everyone.

PC - really sorry to hear that DD is on ABs, poor wee thing

DS woke up at 5.30am with a temperature, so dosed him with Calpol.

Feeling less wierd today and have a nice mellow day planned - coffee with school mums at 9.30am, then collect DD, lunch and watch Doctors together - then collect DS and round to a friend for tea. Friend has a son same age as DS and she is also PG. Was TCC for 6 years and her baby is due the same day as mine!!!

I get paid today, so have absolutely no excuse now not to start the Christmas shopping in earnest now. Am getting Occitane stuff for my two sisters (plus some perfumes I bought in Morocco).

Anyone here an Occitane fan?

pudding77 · 24/11/2006 06:54

Morning all

Foxie - I see we're both up early today! Ds has decided to start waking up at 6am again! It sounds like you have a lovely day planned, not sure what we're going to be doing yet

harktheheraldfoxessing · 24/11/2006 06:59

Hi Puds

Lets hope it doesn't rain today!

Paddlechick666 · 24/11/2006 07:10

well, dd slept 6:45 till 12:30 which was great but after that's been a nightmare!

poor thing, so snuffly but at least she slept!

nanny arrives at 7:30am and i'm going back to bed!!!!!

foxie, sounds like a lovely day. hope your ds isn't too unwell tho.

weather forecast isn't great i'm afraid ladies

sfxmum · 24/11/2006 09:15

good morning

i hope the poorly LOs start feeling better soon.

i our house i am the one who has a cold so i guess will be nursing that one. now have you ever tried to get a child to sleep when you are having an attack of the sneezes? dd kept going 'sneezes' and laughing! it took over an hr to get her to sleep.

as for the weather dd loves rain she gets her wellies and tells me 'splish splash', she loves puddle hoping

MrsBojangles · 24/11/2006 10:01

oh boy had some catching up to do again...

Hope you're alright Foxie, I fell up some stairs when 8mths pg with dd... I was in agony she was perfectly happily boucing around

Seems like a nasty bug is doing the rounds. DD's cought is getting worse so picking her up from school after lunch and off to the doc. Ds is also starting to cough, whcih of course means he sleeps even less

Oxo... can only imaging your sisters garden.

Merchandising... blurgh... dd is a total BARBIE addict and ds is a Thomas The Tank Engine addict. My motto... if you can't beat them... use it as blackmail material! you know... if you don't do xyz NOW then Barbie x will disappear FOREVER! does that make me a cruel mother?

Paddlechick666 · 24/11/2006 10:14

well, dd was a happy chick going off with nanny. nanny had instructions to keep her cutchy and not let the boisterous boys be too boisterous.

i've just had about 2 hours kip and feel great. subsequently i have decided to take a sicky today. going for a bath shortly then might wander over to Richmond to do a few bits.

MrsB, makes you a very effective mother I should imagine!

sfx, lol @ your dd, hope you feel better soon too.

MrsBojangles · 24/11/2006 10:27

drastic mother more like otherwise dd is not even acknowledging half the time when spoken to... teenager in the making at age 4!

pudding77 · 24/11/2006 11:46

Paddle, your dd seemed very happy when I saw her this morning!! I was at the playgym with some friends and ds had wondered over to someone and it turned out to be dd!! She was having lots of fun with the mirrors!

Paddlechick666 · 24/11/2006 11:49

aw, thanks for letting me know!

actually that's a bit weird hearing how she's doing LOL. i;ve often wondered if you guys might run into her somwhere when she's with her grandma or nanny.

felt a bit guilty sending her off this morning but i really needed some sleep and a break myself. and she's okay in herself - just got a cough and she got some great sleep before midnight!

harktheheraldfoxessing · 24/11/2006 14:12

MrsB - one of my current threats is "if you don't do (insert appropriate good child action), then all your Dr Who cards are going in the bin!"

Works everytime. Mind you when DS is in his twenties, he'll probably tell me he was scarred for life by my terrible mothering techniques!!

He insisted on going to school this morning with a raging headache and sore throat, because he's arranged to do some illegal Dr Who card swaps in the toilets with some of the other boys. Trading cards is banned so the boys hide in the toilet to do swaps, so the teacher can't catch them
