sfx - are you TTC at the moment? (well, not this minute, but generally).

lemonaid · 16/11/2006 12:54

Of course, if you are pg you can just stand there and baby will take care of the belly-wriggling for you...

MrsBojangles · 16/11/2006 12:55

I would be very interested in belly dancing ... drat why do we have to move

Paddlechick666 · 16/11/2006 12:59

Foxie re: euro millions, you can play online. i did this last week coz i realised my regular 4 weekly ticket had expired. it's dead easy.

quite happy to do a syndicate thing with you lot. i'm in one at work too and earlier one of our team offered to get a load of lucky dips for tomorrow so i bought another 3!

god how desperate am i LOL.

5% deposit on a house in Isleworth would do me right now but Kew or Richmond would be nice as well. Or Teddington actually - but would have to be river frontage!

i'm getting broody too - which is completely inappropriate under current circumstances LOL!

biological clock has stopped ticking and started BOOMING! Foxie you are my inspiration but also heard of woman at work getting menopause at 45 other day - eek!

sfxmum · 16/11/2006 13:00

our TTC is very peculiar we say yes we are but when it comes to the crunch one of us reaches for the contraceptives and says maybe not just yet

but seriously it is mostly because of my weight, with PCOS the chance of getting gestational diabetes is that much higher, even to conceive the wight must be down and i still have at least one stone to loose

festive - yes the John Lewis baby bit, dh brought home a catalogue the other day

Paddlechick666 · 16/11/2006 13:00

ps: also would be keen on a belly dancing class.

and a babysitting circle............ we need to resurrect that one i think!

harktheheraldfoxessing · 16/11/2006 13:05

PC - one of my best friends was TTC for a couple of years with no luck. When she went to get her hormones tested, she found she was pre-menopausal at about 44 - which meant she couldn't even get IVF in the UK - even pribvately. But it tends to be at the age when your own mother reached menopause (mine Mum's was 50 ).

We have a thread for 43 and PG, and one really nice woman on there is 46 and PG with her second.

I have a huge confession to make now.........................................................................................................................I'm broody too!!!!

This is completely implausable (i.e. DH would leave me) but keep thinking about what it would be like to have four!! Anyone know a good psychiatrist?

You can pick yourselves off the floor now and please promise not to mention this to my DH

Paddlechick666 · 16/11/2006 13:05

I've applied for a Syndicate Kit and will wait to see how it all works.

In the meantime you can all create your own account and play online with your debit cards.

harktheheraldfoxessing · 16/11/2006 13:07

sfx - you don't look at all overweight, not one iota!!! I'm confused

harktheheraldfoxessing · 16/11/2006 13:10

PC - I could imagine you and I bellydancing

Will go off now and try to gamble online.

Paddlechick666 · 16/11/2006 13:11

lordy Foxie! have this one before you start planning the next one!

d'you know i have no idea when my mother had "the change" as she likes to call it. She's 70 next year and I can't believe it was 20 years ago but it might have been 15. actually i might as my sister, she'll know. i'm not asking mum - it'll be an excuse for her to go on and on and on!

sfx, when the time's right you'll probably know and that'll be your incentive to start getting ready to ttc.

i was ludicrously lucky with dd, we'd only been trying 3 months and not very hard at that.

sfxmum · 16/11/2006 13:17

foxiepregnant hormones me thinks and the idea that this one is the last, i can understand that

its about the bmi really i followed the recomendations last time and managed a successful pregnancy without drugs, hoping for the same just can't deal with more miscarriages

PC - i like the idea of baby sitting circle, although i can't quite bring myself to leave dd with anyone but her father so far, but i am sure that will change

are we starting something with this online gambling malarkey

MrsBojangles · 16/11/2006 13:19

I feel so guilty... we never ttc and bang 2 kids later!

sfx .. a stone to loose? where? though if you insist... I did Atkins for 2 weeks to kick start further weight loss and it actually works! Wouldn't do it for longer than 4 weeks though.

festivevillas · 16/11/2006 13:21

Online gambling and belly dancing yes. Just let me know where and when

Paddlechick666 · 16/11/2006 13:22

i developed GD in my pg with dd (gotta love abbreviations LOL!!) totally out of the blue.

prior to being pg i was training 4 times a week plus 2 gym sessions and rarely ate sweet stuff except sugar rush things when racing. drank a fair bit tho and smoked LOL.

was devestated by GD at 6.5 months and ended up using insulin 3 x daily ever increasing amounts.

well done you for managing it SFX - I'm impressed. When you're ready you're gonna nail it I'm sure.

I still don't like leaving DD with anyone but needs must and actually she rather enjoys the change of scene.

I must admit to having dark thoughts about trusting dh recently tho - after what's been in the news recently.

Got your lotto ticket yet???

sfxmum · 16/11/2006 13:33

atkins is not for me i rather run and cut out on portion sizes i love bread chocolate and pasta
my GP recomemded Atkins when i was having trouble before, said some PCOS mums even called their kids after the good doctor on account of that{shock]

PC - what do you mean the recent news?
dh is fab with dd many years ago he worked in a nursery and he can do playdough and allsorts of blue peter stuff.

but we could do with an evening out together so far we have been taking turns, we will try my sisters first. but am up for the circle too

harktheheraldfoxessing · 16/11/2006 13:39

PC - I'm intrigued too, what do you mean about the recent news?

Paddlechick666 · 16/11/2006 13:43

i don't think i could do atkins either for same reasons LOL. altho i switched bread for tortilla wraps and pitta bread and it really helped my skin.

your dh sounds great sfx, would be in big demand on the baby sitting circle i am sure.

i am prob being totally paranoid but recently have read where estranged fathers have hurt the kids. awful stories. of course i don't know what the background to the stories is but it's gotta cross your mind when mental illnes is involved............

prob just being paranoid and anxious unnecessarily tho

harktheheraldfoxessing · 16/11/2006 13:58

PC - No reflection on your DH but I always err on the side of neurotic paranoid Mum myself, so can understand where you're coming from.

I'm the one who said I'd love the babysitting circle, but wouldn't like anyone's DH/DP babysitting my precious monsters if you recall LOL

trying2bgood · 16/11/2006 14:01

couldn't bring myself to do the floor exercises, far too many slim leotard wearing types for me to get away with any dignity intacted!

Mrs B - sorry to hear about the job. And I am so behind, are you moving?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 16/11/2006 14:02

TTbgood - have you considered belly dancing???? (please see below)

sfxmum · 16/11/2006 14:14

ttbgood - leotard! is this an eighties revival!
i would have run in horror

i know what you mean about paranoid mum syndrome, the reality is that the press overblown everything and most people have enough boundaries. and to be fair crimes where mental illness is involved are very rare, having worked in the field for many years i think the stigma is worst.

i also think children need male role models, it is sad that men shy away even from children in distress so as to escape any suspicion, most child abuse occurs within the family but having said that i do have countless paranoid moments

MrsBojangles · 16/11/2006 14:18

oh paranoia is such a 'lovely' thing isn't it... though I would have no issues with letting any of your dh/dp's babysit... dd is a blabber mouth and there's no way anything untoward could happen without her telling! She even told dh off for not wearing pants in bed when she joined us this morning (sorry if tmi)

As for Atkins... I love bread and chocolate etc. however after 2 days on it I had no cravings (very unusual for me), my pmt was better, no sugar dips (I've got hypogycaemia) and much to my dh's delight my libido went sky rocket (again sorry if tmi wink]). so needless to say dh is very 'keen' for me to go back on Atkins LOL

Paddlechick666 · 16/11/2006 14:56

sfx, would be very interested to hear your views and experiences with mental illness. it's a new thing on me and very hard to get my head around.

totally agree about the stigma thing......

definately not going to do Atkins if it's going boost my libido. combine that with feeling broody and current dh situation that is not a good side effect LOL

my 15yr old neighbour is quite keen to do a spot of babysitting for me. i'm inclined to go for it - the odd hour to get round tesco on my own would be great. but still a bit apprehensive and wold be happier if her mum were about too!

sfxmum · 16/11/2006 15:32

sorry you are going through a tough time PC, i am happy to talk, i am not a medical professional my experience is in supporting people with getting on with everyday life, mostly LD and MH.

the main thing i can tell you is get support as wide a network as you can manage and talk to other families in similar circs. it helps not to feel alone, odd, etc.

both my niece and nephew 15&13 are very keen biut i want them to get to know her better first.
