Hi,

im 27 got a nearly 16month old girl and a blue bump due in jan. im feeling really rather lonely as i came here to study and all my friends are in brum and they are useless to say the least and havent manged to come done once in the last 2 years.

So if there is anyone with little ones around the same age or a mum to be let me knwo and maybe we can make friends.

Hello, there are some of us around Worcester, Malvern, but I think we're still abit too far North.

It's not exactly a long way from Brum is it!

Anyway, bump in the hope that the Cheltenham Ladies see this

Hi syskywalker, I was treated badly in Chelt giving birth both times.

I didn't hold my fist ds for neally 4 days as so out of it.I didn't know they were giving me morphine for pain relief after a c-section. Didn't help the bonding process.

With 2nd child dd, they didn't give me a blood transfusion for 2 days even tho' the'd offered it to me, I had to demand it in the end-delay due to staff shortages(they needed 2 nurses to administer the transfusion). A month later, I was rushed in bleeding(down there, they sent me home then the next day asked me to come back in for a untrasound. They found retained products, asked me if i'd eaten anything that morning, I said no as I felt so rotten anyway then rushed me into theatre for an emergency d&c.

They had to give me another transfusion after and I quickly discharged myself as I knew I'd be better looked after at home!

I'm sure some ladies receive really good care when they give birth in Chelt maternity but maybe I was unlucky.

Have you made friends with any other mums in Chelt at mother and baby sessions?

FairySparkle · 03/10/2007 15:41

Hi Ladies, I am newish to mumsnet and just found this thread. I am 23 and mum to Freya who's nearly 22 months. We live in Gloucester. I work part-time for the NHS Smoking Service. Hope your all having a good day xx

cheeset · 05/10/2007 17:58

Hi FairySparkle and welcome .

I'm new to mn, joined a month ago and I really enjoy it. So nice to discuss stuff with complete strangers on here and get a unbiased opinion.

Funny, princessSPARKLE on this thread(similar name) to you.

Do you come to Chelt much? I go to glos sometimes to visit H&M, used to go to Primark but we have one in chelt now.

FairySparkle · 06/10/2007 12:45

I come over to Cheltenham when I get a chance! I work at the NHS Stop Smoking Service in the week from 1pm-5pm so my week is always really busy but I prefer Chelt shopping to Gloucester. What are you all up to this week? xx

cheeset · 06/10/2007 13:53

FairySparkle what am I up to? I will be chewing endless amounts of Nicorette Gum!

I gave up neally 3yrs ago and I am totally addicted to the damn gum.

Any advise? apart from ween myself off the gum!

Might go to pitville park, got to go to Boots for more gum ha ha....

FairySparkle · 07/10/2007 13:09

We actually get this problem quite a bit. Basically our advice is every other piece of nicorette gum you have replace with normal gum then make it more and more normal gum! If you need any extra help call us on 08454220040!! I will be happy to aid you in your quest!! I went to watch my brother play rugby but the game was cancelled and today I joined Weight Watchers! I lost 28lbs last year and have gained a stone! 2 stone 3lbs and I will be at goal weight! WooHoo! Its at GL1 and I missed the bus so had to walk 40 mins to get there! I am sure it made me lighter!!! xxx

cheeset · 08/10/2007 18:16

Good luck with the weight loss FairySparkle, must be bl hard to loose weight. I don't have that problem becasue the gum keeps my weight at bay im sure of it! What you up to this weekend? Ive got 2 kids parties, one at a local hall in chelt and one in Magicland in cirencester, have you been there?

I went to Go Bananas in Stroud the other day and nearly went Bananas! Those places are so bloody hot, unbearable!

Were you affected by the recent floods? Did you do the Bowsers and the fight for water in the supermarket car parks?

syskywalker · 11/10/2007 22:51

Hiya,

finally got a minute, too damn busy with uni, still havent opened the clothes i bought for ds (pretty much whole 12-18 wardrobe), and i love opening parcels and got in on monday morning, parcelforce always turn up before 8am bless them.

i had infections with both mine and gp wanted me to have a scan but never got given one just antibiotics, second time round had to wait 5half hours with 5day old baby and 19month old toddler in a lot of pain, just for a doc to prescribe them to not have one for dp having go back next day and not give any painkillers (must have asked a million times), but went and helped ourselves to food as they made us wait all day. and that wasnt the bad part of having my little man, lucky he survived, as they didnt notice he was lying at an angle with arm up, if he wouldnt have been no.2 might not have made it as he was blue when he came out.

i much prefer chelt for shopping only go over to gloucester for h+m or asda, as got student bus pass anyway, but too busy at mo.

i like montpellier park got a nice little playground and not so far away as i live on tewkes road, so sundays we go to town look at some shops and then go for a play there. so if any of you feel like meeting up sundays there would be good.

Hi syskywalker, this weekend is difficult to meet up as kids party on both days but next weekend should be ok, speak nearer the time as so much can happen you know.
Got to check ebay, speak lata.

BettyBatShapedSpaghetti · 12/10/2007 20:09

If any of you are feeling adventurous we're having a Worcestershire meet-up soon (meal at a pub in the evening). The venue is a pub just off the M5 near Worcester so easy for you to get to.

You're all more than welcome -Heres the thread

syskywalker · 14/10/2007 20:59

hi betty we dont have a car, so cant venture this far and train services are abismal to say the least with them doing works and trains or buses only running ever hours if lucky at totally random times.

OP posts:
BettyBatShapedSpaghetti · 15/10/2007 09:45
