This is a very tentative post as I will be surprised if there are any Flitwick mums on the site but - nothing ventured...

Basically I am new to the town and have 2 children dd5m and ds 25m and I want to get to know mums in the area.

Never actually met up with anyone via the internet before so need to learn the etiquette but am willing - so thanks for reading this post and let me know if you are local.

hettyblue, did you see this?

hettyblue · 24/09/2006 13:08

thank you flashingnose it is very kind of you to point out that link - unfortunately it is me! I changed my name on a whim and totally forgot about it - meant to change it back again - should have thought about it more - oh well i do enjoy talking to myself - i find i have a lot in common with me!

I live in Bedford which is, what? 7 miles away, thereabouts?

My 2 youngest are 21mths and 3.8yrs.

Hi Queen Eagle - yes Bedford is one stop away on the train which is how I get around as I can't drive - and the buses are rubbish here if you have a pushchair to contend with - i can only use the train at the mo if there is someone around at flitwick station to help me down the steps!

My two are 5m and 26m - how many children do you have? How did you find having a small gap between your youngest two?

Thank you for responding - I have to go now - but would be interested to know more about you if you want to chat

hb, I have 5 kids - the older 3 are 14, 12 and 10. tbh I found it far easier having the 3 of them close together than I find with having only 2 little ones now iyswim.

Maybe it's because I'm 10 years older this time, maybe I am just growing out of the toddler stage now!

There are a handful of mums in the Beds area but I have never been to a meet up yet.

Hi there

Stumbled across this site this morning - was feeling a bit desparate and in need of some kind of support group for mums in my area (my son - 1 year yesterday - was screaming for ages for no apparent reason, and I was starting to feel panicky...you know how it is!). And there are Flitwickians on the site! YAY! I've so far avoided the cliquey mums groups in the area (tried one and it was awful!) but now feel the need to 'reach out' to like-minded women in the area - before I go insane! Most of my mates are child-free and live in London - hence, I'm feeling a bit isolated.

Hope to hear back...

Hi Chablis

You will see I have posted on your thread as well then I worked out how to find my old thread which I lost track of before while suffering IT problems.

So only found your response this am - wish I had seen it earlier I would have responded - to Queen Eagle too - but I am still new to this so appologies again.

Anyway hope to catch up with you now
