Hi Lexi,

Whereabouts are you, and how old is your little one? Mine is on the brink of toddling --- she's 10 months. There's an upcoming meet-up too, which you can read about here

We're in muswell hill, and he's 5 months old. We are sadly free most days!!What do you do during the daytime?

maomao · 04/04/2004 20:00

Mostly I try and keep my child from going stir crazy, and from eating the dog and cat food. We go to the playground and walk around a lot.

I've heard there's a toy library in Muswell Hill. Have you been?

Its on my list of things to do!! Its in the library on Queen's Avenue. I think Mon am, Wed pm and Thurs pm. But I keep meaning to write down the times from the poster in the doctors and always forget!! I really should join, as he's bored of all his things now! Get in touch if you want a park companion anytime.Hopefully , better weather is round the corner, and I'll be a bit more inclined to get about!

Your little one might enjoy going to rhyme time at the library on Queen's Avenue:

What's On in the Children's Library

Opening Hours
Monday 2.00pm - 3.30pm
Wednesday 9.30am - 12.00noon
Thursday 9.30am - 12.00noon

For further details telephone Ms Liz Luxmore
Children?s Library: 020 8489 8774

In April every Monday from 2.30pm to 3.00pm and every Wednesday from 11.00am - 11.30am is Story time, Nursery rhymes and Sing-along. On Thursdays it is Story time and Music with Liz.

Sadly, our library only does this once a week.

Let me know how you get on, and whether your baby enjoys it!

Hi Lexi, I have just moved to Alexandra Palace and have an 8 month old baby boy, and would really like to meet some other mums in the area too.

LLL · 14/04/2004 13:08

I have also moved into the area recently (Bounds Green). I heard there is a One O'Clock club in Alexander Palace. Does anyone know where it is exactly. AP is so big! We use to go to Hampstead Heath when we lived in Camden and loved it.
My little one is a big 15 months old.

If you can go down to Wood Green, there's a great drop-in Tues-Fri 10.30am - 3pm at Burghley Rd (look it up in the A-Z) It's run by a parent's co-operative and the babies and kida can play with toys and read books as well as have lunch ( freshly-cooked, vegetarian) at noon. It's a good example of a community co-operative and my baby loves it. Also try going to Priory Park in Crouch End - they have a cafe that sells baby-ccino and obviously try Highgate Wood and their cafe too. North London is actually great on venues - it's just a matter of finding out what's going on and where. If you fancy meeting up, I am at home with my 12-month old most Fridays and we would love to make new friends!
