There have been a few threads about having one at Lomond Shores. Dont know where to start with this, could somebody help and who would be up for it?

Weekends aren't the best time to start a thread like this - but I'll bump it now and see if there is any interest.

I've never been to Loch Lomond SHores, so don't know if it'll be suitable for a more autumn meet-up. It's porbably too late to co-ordinate a meet-up in September - and October means you're getting into the holiday time with the Ocotber Week (which is staggered around Scotland?). The Glasgow Ocotber Week is 16-20 Ocotber.

Could maybe think about 7 or 8 October. Personally, I'd prefer a Saturday - ds has swimming and rugby on a Sunday.

Ah don't huff - Scottish Meet-Ups tend to take ages to get going, agree organise etc.

Anyhoo I would love to come - school holidays in Stirling area are I think week commencing 9th October. To be fair however would be getting v. close to my due date so I might end up as a no show - but then again it could be the first live Mumsnet birth, pah to all those on-line labours .

Weekends either say suits.

Cheerio

I would like to come but Saturdays in October are pretty much booked up with weddings and trips away for some reason!

30 September/1 October might be an option - but not much time to srum up interest.

NB For those that haven't seen the previous threads where this was mentioned, Loch Lomond Shores is appararently very easy to get to even fro those without their own transport. It's close to Balloch station. Ds has been a couple of times with his Out of School Club ((I think he went for the first time last Ocotber week, altohugh it might have been in the Easter break) and he loved it. He tells me that there's a swing/play park there.

Hi there, I'd love to come as I am now close enough!
I dont mind with/without kids but dont know much about dates yet as my term starts next week and I dont know exactly when I will be available.
With kids : Lomond SHores looks good
Without kids : Lets go out in a town somewhere.

Weekends suit me better, but am willing to compromise

MoreTeaAnyone · 22/09/2006 15:30

I'd be up for it. Lomond Shores is great for the kids.

prettybird · 23/09/2006 16:05

With kids: Loch Lomond Shores seem a nice idea

Without kids: some where more city/town centre-ish, so that publci transport is easier (as I presume alcohol would be consumed

Weekends are realy the only option for me, as I work full time and am often away on business.

I'm easy about whether it is with or without kids, although ds could now only come on a Saturday as he has rugby on Sunday afternoons.

Princes Sqaure in Glasgow has been quite good for a few lunch time meet-ups - the kids are ahppy to run around on the mosaic area.

gomez · 23/09/2006 16:30

Hi guys,

I am now booked in for a c-section on 16th October so without kids ain't going to happen anytime soon! And whilst in theory I am happy to bob along anywhere I won't be driving again until mid-November.

So basically, arrange what/when etc and I if can come I will and if I can't then I won't .

Cheerio

Lets make a decision!!!

Rhumba · 25/09/2006 20:27

hello, just moved up to Scotland and wondered if I could crash the next meet up. Do know there is a ceramic experience with small but free soft play area within the Lomond Shores complexy thing. Can't do links but it's one of those pottery painting places and also has a cafe. Don't know what else is there other than the aquarium which DS is desperate to visit.

giggly · 25/09/2006 20:59

Hi can I join in or is this meet for folks who are familiar with each other? new to mn so not sure of all the rules. In Glasgow with transport so ls would be fine.

prettybird · 27/09/2006 23:35

Been really busy at work, so haven't been on recently. I'm now having to cover for a collegaue who has just gone off sick for at least 3 weeks, so I have to do as much of her work as I can, as well as my own....... (if I didn't laugh I'd cry ).

Anyway, the upshot of that is that I'm not going to be able to come on here much for a while, so I can't organise anything but am happy to check up every so often and will fit in with wahtever is arranged.
