On the subject of activities (sorry if diverting) has anyone been to the baby cinema showings at the Showcase. I saw them advertised the last time I went (before baby came) and wondered if it was possible with small baby?

sleepysooz · 03/10/2006 23:16

Do you all meet at night without kiddies, or do you do daytime meets with kiddies?

If daytime over half term, East Leake Farm is ok, specially if bad weather, have lots to do inside.
No. 1 bus bay(?) in broadmarsh takes you there, if you have problems with transport.
???????

Ponka · 07/10/2006 20:19

Sounds good. I'll go wherever. What day, everyone?

Frizombie · 10/10/2006 11:45

Is there anything central nottm, or actually anywhere but south, as that takes the longest for us to get too can be upto 1.5hrs to get south of notts from here, depending on traffic.....Fairyd will have the same prob.

fairydust · 17/10/2006 10:00

Sorry I disappeared for a bit. I've started work again these last few weeks and Friday is one of the days I work. May be next time.

I'm trying to rack my brains for somewhere that might be good for you. There's really not too much in the centre for younger kids. There's the caves, galleries of justice etc. but I wouldn't take little 'uns. You have got quite little ones, haven't you?

If you're looking for a farm, there's White Post farm to the north and Ferry Farm in Hoveringham to the east. Serah organised a meet up at Ferry Farm and that was lovely. Opposite White Post farm there is Wonderland Pleasure Park with indoor and outdoor play, tropical house, crazy golf, rollercoaster, that kind of thing. I've never been so I couldn't vouch for it and I have heard the food isn't up to much (fruit shoots and burgers by all accounts) but that it's a good day out.

There's an indoor play place in Arnold called Tumbletown which is nice but can get very crowded in half term. There's another one beeston way (Beechdale swimming baths). I've never been so I don't know what it's like. I've heard making it in Littleworth, Mansfield is a good discovery centre but that's way out of Nottingham.

Hope you have a nice time.

Ponka · 19/10/2006 21:24

Or you could sod all of that and go to a nice pub

CaptainCavemansMummy · 19/10/2006 21:30

Is it too late to join? I missed the last meet-up as I was at work.
My ds is 2.6 and I'm 33.

Wonderland is ok, but food IS burgers and fruit shoots.
Any ideas where we can go? (assuming you dont' mind me joining you!?)

Frizombie · 19/10/2006 21:33

FD seeing as you started the thread, you should choose

fairydust · 19/10/2006 22:04

don't put the pressure on me as long as it's on the aa route finder i don't mind.

nevedr heard of wonderland - a farm ? i dont know

CaptainCavemansMummy would love to meet you and your ds.

lol, no pressure FD, I'm happy to wander to anywhere! just thinking the weather is heading grotty tho, so maybe it should be something indoor?? but don't really know Notts these days, lurking over here on the edge of Derbyshire like you!

CaptainCavemansMummy · 20/10/2006 10:19

Cyrils nut hut in Long Eaton is nice but again, its half term so may well be busy.

Wonderland is kind of north notts, just opposite White Post Farm. Indoor and outdoor play but if its wet you miss a lot of the playing.

Kool kids in Carlton is another big indoor play and never usually busy - food not memorable though!

errm, anything near anyone else of worth?

fairydust · 20/10/2006 17:05

there's not much near me and frizbe we're in the sticks .lol

OP posts:
Frizombie · 20/10/2006 20:21

we have Chucklebutties n Planet Happy, think that covers it!!
Long Eaton sounds good, that's J25 off M1 right?!

S0A0M · 21/10/2006 11:38

So have i got this right we are meeting up on Friday 27th but location to be decided?

CaptainCaveman · 21/10/2006 16:10

Yeh, Long Eaton is J25 M1. Not sure how crazy the place gets at half term though.

Frizombie · 21/10/2006 22:52

Might not be able to make it this week now, we shall see, have had family berevement funeral TBA...
