Bloody hell, I'm only 5 years younger than you but I don't see myself (or you!) as an "older mum"

Not in Stevenage, but wanted to bump for you.

(call yourself notoldermum36 )

OMG you are the same age as me and I hadnt even considered that I was an older MUM!! I have 3 kids too but I think I am still having too much fun!!

I bet your 17 yr old thinks youre really cool to have a young mum like you!!

Get that baby of yours out and about to meet other mums.. go to the swimming pool and see if there are any classes. Try the local GP surgery for a list of things to do with babies and go to a new mums and tots group.

My eldest is nearly 10 and youngest is 6 mths but I am loving it... its like having two whole sets of friends.

I dont live anywhere near Stevenage but I am sure there are loads like us there too !!

Hi Mrs Noah, Have you seen this thread: Hitchin/Stevenage and surrounding areas - 1st Sept. Could be just what you're looking for.

I am in Stevenage (Bedwell) and have a son nearly 3yo and a daughter three weeks old. Like others here I have also never considered myself old at almost 36! Have to go on to the the teletubbies site now (being harangued by ds) but will check this thread next time get a chance to switch computer on. Managed to miss the thread re Stevenage meet-up on 1st Sept but was thinking of CAT-ing them so that I'll make the next one.

'kinell, I hadn't even got pregnant at 36.

Ops looks like i put my foot in it lol, what i mean is you take a walk round the town 90% of the people pushing buggies dont look any older than my 17 year old.

Good save

I am also alarmed since moving to Stevenage that I appear to be in minority in that I don't smoke over my children. I do buy the odd sausage roll though...

Strange how difficult it is to find people in a similar situation when others find them so abundant! I don't think 36 is old at all, when i am 36 my Ana will be 18 (falls off chair) i hope i am brave enough to do it all again then, am having number 2 now, maybe i will be too worn out!

Where i live (village in bucks) every mother i know of is considerably older, my husband and I are feel very isolated having our family so young, and many older mums i find don't want to know us, as we are so much younger Maybe your health visitor could put you in touch with some suitable places to meet local mums? Good luck, i hope you find someone like-minded so much! x
