hi all,

thanx for the replies - would love to maybe make it down to the Brighton meet - I imagine that there is quite a few mums in that area! Once I tackle getting the new pushchair to fold down - I'll try and head down. What do you normally do when you meet up? Is it cups of tea or glasses of wine??? lol
Would still love to hear from any mums in this area too.

Just thought I would share this with you :- yesterday my 7 yr old daughter came home from school and told me that they had to draw a picture of Henry ville. 'Henry Ville??' I asked - 'I've never heard of him'. 'Well' she said, 'He's a very famous person in history'. I thought for a moment and suddenly it clicked 'Do you mean Henry VIII?'
It turned out to be Henry VIII after all, but she'd obviously read the roman numerals as 'vill' - bless her! It was so funny!

Nikki74 · 12/09/2006 12:24

There seems to be a few of us within a few miles of each other - so it would be lovely to meet up some time! My car is a little poorly at the moment but should be sorted soon. As most of you are more Uckfield way - I guess it would make sense to head in that direction?
On a completely diff note - my dd3 (7wks old) has just given me her first giggle - awww - bless her!

Just noticed this thread. I live in HH and our first baby is due on 1 Feb so I don't think I am a bona fide mum yet, but would love to keep up with some of you in the future when I do have a baby in tow! I'll be able to take 6 months maternity, and then work from home two days a week after that.

MABS · 14/09/2006 21:24

Come to the Brighton meet up 1 Oct - would love to meet you all.

Mum2FunkyDude · 14/09/2006 21:27

Me a bit further west, Barns Green, I used have a studio in Blackboys! Drove through Halland and HH everyday!

Nikki74 · 17/09/2006 13:55

Of course you are a bona-fide mum soundbites - if you want a HUGE stack of baby mags then let me know. I have at a HUGE bag of them and they are so expensive to buy and they repeat the same stuff over and over! Let me know if you want me to pop them round to you - x

Hello laides

Nikki - Glad you think I can already be called a mum! Actually, my grandpa, bless him, is telling people already that he is a great grandfather! Would love those mags if you want a home for them; that is really kind of you. I live in Bolnore Village. You could email me if you like on [email protected] and I can make a plan with you. I am 28 by the way, dh is 35. Did you have your babies in Princess Royal?

Would gladly fit in with the Brighton events - but it will have to be when I have stopped work and can be available during the day. Thanks for the invite, MABS.

Spidermama · 18/09/2006 17:00

Hi there. I'm in Brighton too.

As it happens I'm looking for a stay at home dad from West Sussex to contribut to a radio programme I do. If anyone could help with this I'd be most grateful.

Spidermama · 18/09/2006 17:00

I have an 8 year old girl and three boys of 6, 4 and 1 btw.

sunnydelight · 18/09/2006 18:35

I'm in Lewes, so not far. My DSs are 13 and 7 so obviously at school during the day. I also have a DD (3). I'm going to the Brighton meet up on 1st October but would be up for a coffee in Hawyards Heath or Uckfield if anyone is meeting.

Nikki74 · 19/09/2006 09:44

Hmmm....am seriously considering popping along to the B'ton meet - if I've got a car sorted by then!!
Am definately up for a local meet too though!
I'm afraid I don't know any stay at home dad's for your radio piece Spidermama - will let you know if I hear of one!
Hello SunnyD and everyone who has said hi on here so far...
Soundbites - I will mail you about the mags - Bolnore isn't far from me at all - I'm in the priory estate - and will happily drop off the mags (if I don't get lost driving around Bolnore village!!!)

soundbites · 19/09/2006 09:47

Spidermama - DH's cousin is a caterer who is now a stay-at-home dad in Crawley. They have a DD of about 4 and a DS who is 18mths (DH's Godson). His wife just took off her 6 months maternity with each child and he has done the rest. Let me know if you want me to put you in touch.

soundbites · 19/09/2006 09:55

Nikki - our messages crossed. I could come and find you too, don't feel you have to do the dropping off, especially as you are doing me a favour. I'd gladly give you lifts to Brigton if I wasn't working (from Jan onwards). Keep that in mind for the future. A local meet would be lovely too, but for me to make it would it need to be a weekend, or a day I work from home so I can see the midwife (for example I am home on Tues and Wed next week - 26th and 27th - for 2nd scan & mw). But don't let me hold you back - I'll join in in the New Year!
