okay so I was hijacking but I thought it was relevant...
Have you ever met someone you know in RL at a meet up and not known they were an MNer. I would imagine this could be embarassing as it can be easy to open up behind the anonymity of your MN name. I think it's probably different if you know them through MN first. Am I making sense?

No but I was terrified that dp's ex was going to be at the first meet-up I went to. She wasn't thankfully, she's a bit of a luddite as far as computers are concerned!

you see that's it. I was telling a friend at the weekend about DD and then I started thinking should I mention that because I put it on MN and maybe she saw it and now knows I am gossiping away at work - not that she would be bothered. never mind the fact that there are a few 1000 people registered!
