We have just moved to Brentwood from Highbury. I have a 3 1/2 yr old daughter and we would like to meet some other mums. I am considered a "mature mum" (cheek!) at 38 by the hospital (I am 5 months pregnant). We live very near the high street and Kings Georges playing fields. Anyone out there?

Hiya,

I'm 33 and my lo is nearly 4 months old. And i HATE the phrase "mature mum". Mind you, I'm still shocked that I'm grown up enough to be a Mum myself.......

I don't live in Brentwood, but I'm not a million miles away - I'm in Romford.

BrookeandTaylorsmummy · 18/08/2006 21:14

theres quite a few of us about 30-45 mins away in southend

tippytap · 18/08/2006 21:16

And you've definitely got better scenery in S/end than Romford, that's for sure!

BrookeandTaylorsmummy · 18/08/2006 21:20

Seafront's lovely in the rain!!ha ha!! we're all meeting up on monday in chalkwell park if you're interestd?? we're on another thread, essexmums in the southend area, come and join in!

tippytap · 18/08/2006 21:21

I dunno, those big threads are v scarey to a newbie.

BrookeandTaylorsmummy · 18/08/2006 21:23

Ah dont be scared I've only been on for a little while, want me to introduce you first?

tippytap · 18/08/2006 21:27

Yes please. Perhaps I should change my user name to "Wuss".........

BrookeandTaylorsmummy · 18/08/2006 21:30

Ok hang on a tick, don't change your name silly, youre not a wuss!

BrookeandTaylorsmummy · 18/08/2006 21:39

No one is there at the mo but I have introduced you so come and join the fun, or just watch for a while!

tippytap · 18/08/2006 21:41

I know, I've posted - thanks for the introduction.

bubbaloo · 18/08/2006 23:03

Hiya,
There's also quite a few of us from Romford.I'm just up the road in Chadwell Heath,I'm 33 and have a ds who's 14 months old.

gjfusmum · 21/08/2006 12:46

Righto, think I've got the hang of this now, you read from the bottom up right? Computers do not float my boat... what is a ds and a lo? I hear there is a great play place in Romford at The Brewery. I used to go to college in Romford when the brewery was still a brewery. I can still remember the smell, eugh.

Hello, Im from Brentwood also, live in the Hutton area. I know how hard it it moving to a new area so thought I would post you a message. There are so many places here to meet others, toddler groups etc. Im actually planning to move in a month to Suffolk if all goes to plan, and I have been posting messages on here to meet new people. Im 30 and have a 2 year old, and just found out that I am 5 weeks pregnant, Im so excited yet nervous about the move. If you fancy bringing your little one to my toddler group on a Monday morning, its at the Hutton Free church on hanging hill lane, at 9:30 - 11:30, otherwise I also go to the keys hall toddler gp in Warley, also on a Monday at the same time. My name is Diane and im one of the many childminders that attend. If you ask for me, so many people know me, maybe I can make you feel a little less isolated. I know I would love someone to do this for me when I move. All the best in Brentwood. Diane x

TrueBlue · 23/09/2007 22:55

Glad I found this thread!

I've just moved to Herongate and don't really know many people here yet... I am 30 and have a girl aged 2.5 and a boy who's just started reception... I would love to meet some mums in the Brentwood area. Ideal day for me to meet up is a Monday, so the toddler groups in Hutton and Warley suit me quite well. Will try to go there next week.

Perhaps we should organize meeting up one Monday at King George Playing Fields?

Bubbaloo · 24/09/2007 14:50

Hi All,
I'm still around too.
I've now got 2 ds's-eldest is 28 months and the baby is 5 months old.

Mrsmope · 18/10/2007 15:30

Anyone still out there.

Know that I'm a bit behind with this thread but just wondered if anyone could recommend any toddler groups I could attend.

I'm a 37 year old mum with a 2 1/2 year old daughter but don't know any other mums in the area. I live in hutton, just of Hanging Hill Lane.

Bubbaloo · 19/10/2007 22:36

Hi Mrsmope,
I'm still around,so thought I'd say hello.Don't know of anyone groups in Brentwood but I have a ds the same age as your lo,if you fancy chatting. We're in Chadwell Heath but hoping to move to Upminster in the new year.

Mrsmope · 26/10/2007 20:09

Hi Bubbaloo

Haven't logged on for a while as I've been pretty busy, doing nothing very exciting, as you do. Good to hear from you, just wondered what you find to do during the winter months with your lo? It seems to be more difficult to keep them amused and I must confess I'm not really one for going out when it's pouring of rain. Took my dd to one of those kids climbing/ballpark things the other day and she really enjoyed it, but must confess I found it quite boring hanging around waiting for her.

Bye for now

TrueBlue · 19/01/2008 20:17

Mrsmope and Bubbaloo , it sounds like all of us are near Brentwood, have a 2.5 year old and are looking for somewhere to go and have some adult conversation. Let me know if you are still around and interested in sorting out a meet-up.

Bubbaloo · 19/01/2008 22:57

Hi There,
I'm still here.
Would be happy to chat and meet up.We're in Chadwell Heath but hoping to move to Upminster/Hornchurch at some point this year, but I drive,so nowhere is really a problem.I have a 2.6 year old and a 9 month old.

Bubbaloo · 21/01/2008 20:47
