I?ve just moved to north London from south London and I?d love to know where the best places are to take my 13 week old daughter and meet other mums. If you know of any good activities or just places to hang out, please let me know.

YM I live in Camden and my son is 16 weeks. I haven't really found anywhere myself but am starting to think I really need to as all my friends are single and/or childless. Whereabouts are you?

MarsLady · 09/08/2006 22:58

Where are you in N London?

USELESSMUM · 16/08/2006 10:19

hello YM,

I live up here too. not exactly in wood green though, in tottenham.
Crouch End is great for mums, lots of buggies about, nic cafes, parks and pools. and it's not too far from wood green. they've got nice play group for babies and toddlers as well. it's in crouch hill. unfortunately those are closed till the end of the month but after that I'll suggest you come.

I'm not very well educated and my handbag was free with a magazine, i suppose i could sit on the otherside of the park if we could meet up and maybe only talk when nobody was watching.

aelita · 18/08/2006 09:07

Well, that's you told, isn't it? Whereabouts in N London are you? Heap big place. Or if you've been scared off, you could try posting on netmums instead,

Beetroot · 18/08/2006 09:09

netmums? is that the site for yummymummys then?

aelita · 18/08/2006 09:25

Quite possibly, but I haven't tested out using the phrase on there yet to see if I get shot down in flames.

Beetroot · 18/08/2006 09:29

maybe I should go register!

I actually do find it offensive term. I equate it with women dolled up to the nines at the school gate, who then spend their days having manicures and lunches.

I live in the Kenisth Town area and the place is awash with good stuff to do for pre-schoolers - but not in the effing school holidays, so don't go looking just now. More comes apparent in a few weeks time when the kids go back.

In the meantime try any of the Camden council libraries kiddie section - they are fab for hanging out with babies at. Our one in KT actually has aircon as well, and was a refuge during the heat wave.

I am in Camden Town if anyone wants to get together sometime although not realyy a desperado and no uglies please which goes without saying really...
