Albert dock has cheap ish hotels doesn't it? The Dolby and campanile?

I will come if it fits in with stuff here.
Not far from Liverpool and go regularly, but usually for other reasons.
There are loads of fab places and the people are really friendly.

if anyone knows of a cheap hotel - let me know as they are looking very expensive

Trivago has rooms at the Radisson Blu for £68. No breakfast though

holiday inn and Thistle atlantic tower seem to come in around £80 ish for twin, is that too much?

The uni does accommodation, but have to stay 2 nights! For £48 a night.

When did hotels get so expensive! Even the campanile, which isn't that great from what I remember. I'm quite tempted to ring round and see if there's a group discount and one for mumsnet too!

Im not orange though, I dont have massive hair either - just incase you were looking forward to a real life orange scouser with hair that could take over the world joining you all.

How do you all know each other when we get there though, I'd be afraid of going round the tables whispering pom bears to see who responds. There are trendies in Leaf and i'd get laughed at.

If anyone would like to meet up beforehand so you dont have to walk into the place on your own not knowing anyone please pm me. (will also help me not to bottle it at the last moment)

p.s. yarn shops - elkilos is fab, off london road think its called abakhans though. I live in there most days!

The giants puppets are back in Liverpool for this weekend - could explain why the hotels are pricy. It's going to be very busy.

ah, the event will be brilliant I imagine (saw the Giants previously and were fantastic) but it could be a nightmare for those people travelling in and not sure of the area as I'm guessing certain roads will be closed off? but not sure.

I will be coming over on the train from the Wirral so ok for me, but it will be very very busy, and hard to walk around.

That's true, Heiffer. Last time this was on, the whole walk route was closed to traffic and public transport was absolutely jammed.

How many people have already booked accommodation or anything non-refundable?

Premier inn liverpool north has rooms for 35 quid. It is about a 15 minute taxi ride into liverpool and would cost about a tenner in a taxi or a 5 minute walk would get you to orrel park train station where you can get trains every 15 mins. I would loooooove to come as I too hail from the town of lambananas but I will have just returned from my hols stealth boast and I would be desperate for adult attention after ten days listening to my DDs delightful musings absolute relentless drivel please accept a decline from me with regret and a place on the reserve list. I would have painted myself orange and made my hair big and curly and everything
