Hi, DH and I are thinking of moving to Northampton from London and I'm a bit nervous about not knowing anyone at all in the area. It's all very early days yet - have only just put our London flat on the market - but was wondering if there were any MN mums in Northampton to kind of give me the lowdown on the area etc and would be up for meeting when we finally get up there. I've lived in London all my life so this is going to be a big move for me!

Hi Muma - you've been giving me some good advice on the Education thread! I've got DS who's only 10 months at the moment but if we do move up to Northampton we'll be trying for another (with fingers crossed!) It would be good to meet up with you if we do end up there as I'll be a SAHM too. Are there many Mother and Baby groups or Baby 'rhyme time' type activities in Northampton? I go to a few things here in London and would like to keep that sort of thing up, especially as it's a good way to meet other mums.

Muma3 - hi again! Well, it looks like we are going to be moving up to Northampton in September sometime if all goes well (fingers crossed!). The house we are hoping to buy is in Abington so I'm not sure if that's near you or not, but hey, Northampton's not as big as London so I'm sure you'll not be too far away! I would definitely be up for meeting up as I'll be stranded on my tod with DS when DH commutes to London for work. Would be great to meet some Northampton mums - so watch this space and I'll keep you updated as to the move!

Hi there Tillyrose - that would be great. We;re hoping to move up there in early September so if you check back here then, I would love to arrange a meet up. Where abouts do you live?

I'm in Wellingborough - just along the A45 from Northampton.

TillyRose · 31/07/2006 18:28

I'm in a village just north of Northampton. I will tell you when I meet you!

I will post on here at the beginning of september and perhaps we could arrange a meet up with anyone else local-ish.

Holymoly321 · 01/08/2006 20:38

Hi again all - sounds great. I will let you all know when we move up and look forward to meeting you!

hi there - did you move in the end. Abington is very close to the Abington Park. There is a rhyme time group in my village. Weston favell Village on fridays at the tennis club. How are you finding northampton? Abington is a good central place in northampton. I have a 22 month old and have just had second baby boy 2 weeks ago.
