Hi there,

I am coming up to my mums next month (4-11 March)

Would anyone be interested in meeting at the Heritage CEntre in LIvingston.

Would have loved to if we had been going over to Scotland then, but our next visit isn't until Easter time.

Hopefully you have some interest - the Centre is great (according to my mum/sister/niece).

Haven't managed to it ourselves yet as we are usually sidetracked to McArthur Glen and the Almondvale (shoppers delight!).

Good luck with trying to organise something.

didn't see your message till today - have limited time to spend on mumsnet since Elvie arrived
I know it's short notice now but I would be interested in meeting up if something was organised - can't make Wednesdays or Thursdays though.
I take it you mean Almond Valley Heritage Centre in Livingston -it's nice and great for kids (of all ages) - ds had his 4th birthday party there.

I am not sure what mum has planned for us yert but a trip to the heritage centre will definitely be on the Agenga.

next Tuesday would be best for me - providing I can persuade dh to let me have the car. What time would be best for you? I have to be home for 4:15 to take dd2 to the doctors, so would have to leave at 3:30 at the latest.

Children can come - I'm bringing my month old dd - the more the merrier. Livingstone Heritage Centre is great for kids, has soft play, outdoor play, farm animals etc.

I would love to come then, if that's OK, I'll probably have DS1 aged five and DS2 aged 21 months with me, they could really do with a day out, DS1's nursery is shut just now due to industrial action and DH is decorating and we keep getting under his feet! I could do Tuesday next week (9th?) too.

Sounds fab Jan, is this where I give you a run-down of what we will be wearing etc (never done this before). I will more than likely be wearing dark jeans (almost black), black top/jumper, black leather three-quarter length coat and black boots (can you tell I like black? ), I have shoulder length brown hair. I will more than likely have red and black three wheeler with me with DS2, wearing beige duffle coat, in it and DS1 in blue/cream jacket. That may help with identifying us, you may scare off other visitors by asking "Are you Demented?" !

Looking forward to it but also very scared!

Can I just ask a question or two. Is there parking at the heritage centre? Do you have to pay to get in? Is there somewhere to have lunch or should we bring packed lunch? What do the two of you look like? Do you know each other? In which case is it just a case of you looking out for us?

Can you tell I haven't done this before and am really nervous?

Hi there.
I have not met Tabitha before so we are all in the same boat on that score.
There is parkingand you need to pay to get in but I cant remeber how much. Mum and I are taking DD tomorrow so I will check then.
I can't remeber if there is a cafe but I will check. When we went last year we just took a packed lunch, as there is a barn in which you can eat.

We were there today, £3 entry for adults. the train is not running atm but if we want a trip on it I can book it for us. THere is also a tearoom as well as the picnic barn

Bad news I'm afraid - don't think I'll be able to make it. Ds has been ill all weekend with an ear and throat infection - ended up taking him to the emergency doctors yesterday - and now his eardrum's burst.
Poor little soul is being very brave about it - much braver than I was when my eardrum burst and I screamed like a stuck pig - but I think he'll be off school and at home for the next few days.
Sorry I'm going to miss it. I was looking forward to it but hope you have a nice time.

That's a shame Tabitha. I hope he's feeling better soon, we are prone to ear infections in this family too so I know how you feel.

I'm still up for it Jan if everything's still OK with you, I have told DS1 we are going somewhere special tomorrow so he is looking forward to it. I'll log on again later tonight to check but just wondered what you thought about lunch, packed lunch to eat in the barn or go to the cafe?

Demented, It was lovely meeting you and your DSs today. DD had a briliant time. In the car home all she kept saying was MOO.

Tabitha, I haope your DS is better soom an d hopefully we can meet up next time I am at mums.

Hi JanHR, it has taken me a while to get onto Mumsnet tonight! We had a fantastic time today! Your DD is gorgeous, glad she had a nice time. My DSs slept in the car all the way home (had a feeling DS1 was tired). I keep going all gooey thinking of those little lambs, aaahh!

Not yet had a chance to put the photos on the computer but will do over the next couple of days and e-mail you some.

Have a safe journey home on Thursday.
