Thanks teabelly (love the name!) for this thread link (for those who don't know i started my own sad and lonely meet up thread with no replies! ) i can't make it as i don't drive so can't get to stevenage, otherwise i'd have loved to have come.
Hope you're all having a good time, if you ever do a meet up nearer to cambridge let me know!
xx

Georgiesmum · 30/06/2006 18:23

Seren we will sort something out so you can join in nect time.

Thanks ladies We had a lovely time today

CSWS Hope that your DD slept on the way home and is now a little happier!

Tea your son is so sweet and very imformative!!

I dont think they will ever acceot a booking from me again seeing the distruction caused by the 3 DD of ours!

So when and where is the next ome?!!

There is a brewers fayre in Stevenage I found out or one near Hitchin? That would be nice, as they are a little more child friendly!

Hi ladies - lovely to see you all. Sorry DD was in such a foul mood! As predicted, she was asleep by the time we reached the island by Tesco! She woke up when we got home though (25 mins later) so was still fairly grumpy for the rest of the afernoon. Eventually I succumbed and gave her some baby rice - she then had some milk and slept for 1hr 20 mins, and thankfully she went down ok a little while ago. I've put the portable air conditioner in her room, so as long as the noise of it clicking on and off doesn't wake her I'm hoping that that might also contribute to a better night.

Shall we try and aim for the last week of July for the next meet up?

teabelly · 30/06/2006 21:33

Oh Serendippity - are you near the train station? The trains from Cambridge come our way via Royston, Letchworth and southwards...if not then I love Cambridge (shouldn't really say that as I'm an Oxford girl ) but I'll come up and meet and shop if you like - maybe we can persuade some of the others - a big picnic on Christ's Pieces??

Girls - lovely to see you all again - And Amy for the first time

CSWS - how typical is that - huh they always wake up just after you arrive home! So I take it she liked the rice?? You could also try a fan instead of an air conditioner...the white noise from a fan is constant and was invaluable with DS when he was a young one.

GM - thanks for organising today - and hey don't worry about rebooking at Fatty's - the head guy seemed pretty surley to me so I feel he deserved the mess we were able to generate! and yes DS is very informative - you were just lucky he didn't start on his favourite subject du jour...where babies come from! am sure I've confused him for life when I said he came from daddy's winky and daddy gave mummy a special hug...(all questions generated, I hasten to add, when expecting DD) and he looked horrified at me and then laughed saying Daddy's winky wasn't big enough...I want to know when he was peeking to know that!

Re a next meetup, end of July sounds good to me, and if anyone fancies Cambridge fab, otherwise I'm happy to come nearer Royston for GM or stay around the Stevenage/Hitchin area. As far as pubs go - that's a great call, and am desperately trying to think of good one's in the area...half a bottle of merlot not helping my brain power atm so I will have to come back to you about that, hic!

Georgiesmum · 30/06/2006 21:44

Ladies, i am really not bothered where as I drive and am happy to help up anyone that doesnt. Like I say brewers Fayre are great and Amyjo22 has a loyalty card!! (shall let her explain that one!!)

Shall we see where everyone is coming from and decide on the best spot to meet from there.

I thought that That Man today was rude, nevermond surely. The cheek of him on some things and if we hadnt been there I think they had a total of 6 customers! Shall not grace them with our presence again!

Right as for the next one I can only really do Fridaty 28th July at the end of july coz DD christening is on the 23rd so am busy the friday before and recovering the monday after!!

Hows the 28th for everyone else?

misdee · 30/06/2006 21:58

darm, washing machine repair man turned at 1.30. typical. wasnt enough time to shoot up to meet you girls, then collect my dd1 from school.

there is a brewers fair at letty green near welwyn. no indoor play area but nice outdoor section.

teabelly · 30/06/2006 22:13

Uh Misdee - that's bloody typical too - was a time when you could at least ask for morning or afternoon - now though it's between 9 and 6 take it or leave it, grrr - ok sounding scarily like my mum now so shall stop there

Just thought I think the Royal Oak Langly (on B656 between Hitchin and Welwyn) is a brewers fayre, and in that case I think there's also one (don't know name) just past Tesco's on Knebworth road out of Stevenage...not sure if either has play areas though?

Georgiesmum · 30/06/2006 22:53

There is a brewers fayre at Broadwater Stevenage and Langley Nr Hichin, Will find out which if any has a play area.

Mussdee that is typical, will you make the next one do you think?

OP posts:
misdee · 30/06/2006 22:54

hopefully.

Georgiesmum · 30/06/2006 22:57

Neither have indoor areas but that is not the be all and end all is it?

OP posts:
girrafey · 01/07/2006 12:12

hey girls, lovely to see you all.

not sure on misdee as dont know if you drive. ( vaguely remebering money raised for petrol and parking) but looking at the map i actually seem to be in the middle. we have a lovely brewters, ( play area) it is straight off the turning of the a1 for those travelling from hitchin, aresly etc. stevenage is 30 mins away from me, so shouldnt take you guys longer than that. also seren cambrige is 25 odd mins from me the other way, and gm i know can get to me in that time so i seem pretty central. what do you think?

misdee · 01/07/2006 22:58

yes i drive now, but have a daughter at school.

Georgiesmum · 03/07/2006 16:33

Well i can get to AJs but what about the stevenage people isnt it quite far for them?

Shall we all say where ae are coming from and our modes of transport and decide from there

Royston - Car

OP posts:
teabelly · 04/07/2006 13:57

Arlesey (just outside Letchworth) - car

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/07/2006 14:32

Kimpton - car

Serendippity · 06/07/2006 16:06

Aw, cheers teabelly i wouldn't mind getting the train normaly, but we are in a bit of a cash flow crisis atm!
Aaanyway sounds like you all had a lovely time and maybe i'll catch you (or at least some of you) at a later date

teabelly · 10/07/2006 21:32

Ok girls that seems to be it then...so where do ya fancy and when??

Does anyone fancy joining me in Cambridge if we can agree on a suitable date with Serendipity?

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/07/2006 18:52

Cambridge is an hour away for me, so would have to see on the day what sort of mood DD was in, but in principle I'd be prepared to travel there.

Georgiesmum · 11/07/2006 20:17

I dont miind cambridge as long as i can drive/park and ride to where we are going to meet.

Also for future reference I found out that the Brewers Fayre in Stevenage does have an idoor play area.

OP posts:
teabelly · 12/07/2006 09:59

GM - if we do Cambridge I'd park and ride too - soooo much easier, but I'm equally as happy going to Stevenage again if that's easier and better for you CSWS...what ever I do it may be the last one unless we can squeeze two in before September...job role is changing and I'm going up to 5 days a week - Lord alone knows how I'll get used to that again after 4 years of doing only 3 days!

PiccadillyCircus · 13/07/2006 12:08

Hello everyone. i am still here . Was still away on 30th June but would love to meet up again soon. Fridays best for us; I am back at work now . Happy to travel (virtually) anywhere.

We're in Henlow (near Letchworth)

teabelly · 13/07/2006 12:42

PC - hello hope you had a good holiday. Hope getting back into the work thing is going ok too - I was dreading it after DD, but I must admit, I'd never get this much pc time if I was at home!

So everybody what do you fancy doing? Shall I CAT Serendipity to get a suitable date if she can make it and try for Cambridge this time?? Or shall we meet more locally, and I can make other arrangements with Serendipity...

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/07/2006 13:18

I'd prefer to avoid park and ride - not good if I have to make a hasty exit like last time! But other than that am quite flexible. We could always organise 2 - one Cambridge way and one Stevenage way, and that way we should all be able to attend at least one.

Sorry to hear about all this work malarky!

Fridays are fine with me, but if it's not local then can we avoid the weeks which clash with my MAMA sessions - they are every other Friday, with there being one tomorrow and so on.

SaffyCat · 01/08/2006 22:19
