Hi Hannah

Although not strictly a "new mum" - my daughter is. We recently moved to the South-West. I'm in Bridgwater and she has moved to Willand, Devon.

She has a 4 weeks old daughter and is feeling a little isolated and overwhelmed I think, not helped by the fact that she has limited access to the internet.

Kinda feeling that I've done as much as I can to help her and that she really needs to chat to other mums in the same boat.

I'm not sure what happens from here either - I'm a grandma !

A meet up, chat, whatever you could suggest for me to help her would be greatly appreciated.

She has a good knowledge of Taunton as we both work there.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi all, have been around for a while although haven't posted for ages! I live in Nether Stowey near Bridgwater/Taunton (same distance from either!). It is great to know of other people...there weren't that many around or who posted that I knew were that local. Good to see!

fifi26 · 04/07/2006 15:43

twocatsonthebed · 24/07/2006 17:59

Was in Stoke Newington then Clapham - how about you? will email you.

toriasomerset77 · 26/07/2006 08:55

Hi Claireybee and Twocats)

Hey sounds great, more ladies in this area with babies. We could all meet up, either at my house, have big playroom so space not a problem or we could meet at rugratz, but feel bump and young baby would not enjoy this, lol

So if u fancy a coffee and chat then ping me an email. As I am learning to drive distance to meet would be a problem. Am oldest learner driver on the road, hehehe well if feels that way

Take care talk soon

Toria, and her boys xxx

still hoping to join you somerset mums in the near future...we're moving from Wiltshire (but I'm originally from London!)...looks as if we're going to be renting near Glastonbury....If any of you pregnant mums are interested I'm an independent antenatal teacher and am hoping to set up something similar (www.greatexpectations.uk.com) in the somerset area ,probably near taunton once moved. I have ds (5) and dd (3) and time has flown so quickly since I've become a mum...no more for me (too old now I think at 42 !!!!) will keep you posted on the move

SlightlyFamiliarPeachyClair · 02/08/2006 20:32

Why was there no-one from Somerset when I lived there? Move here and.....

Oh well, back in two years
so at least'll be people about then

(Still do the carnivals though every week, only a 120 mile round trip LOL!)

tortoise · 02/08/2006 20:46

Im in Castle Cary and it would love to meet up with people in yeovil.I have ds1 age 9,ds2 age 6,dd1 age 3 and dd2 age 2. I cant drive but could easily get the bus into town and meet there or at ninesprings [email protected] if anyone wants to contact me.

joelallie · 02/08/2006 20:54

Peachy! I was there. Or is it only MNers that count I think my DD was in your Rainbows group. Can't get much more 'there' than that

SlightlyFamiliarPeachyClair · 02/08/2006 20:59

really????????????????

Go on, who was it......... first name????

I did mean Mumsnetters LOL! Plenty of people otherwise, of course!

joelallie · 03/08/2006 14:08

Eleanor. She came and went pretty quickly TBH. I helped you with the WWII anniversary picnic thingy.

aragon · 03/08/2006 14:24

Hi,

I'm near Crewkerne and in driving distance of Yeovil. My DS is 3.5.

SlightlyFamiliarPeachyClair · 03/08/2006 14:36

I remember! She was lovely (as were you too)

I hated having to leave the girls, the GGA weren't very helpful or supportive but the girls were lovely. Dh was ill though, I wasn't well either, it was a 60 mile round trip, Sam's Autistic traits were manifesting...... >

Do miss them all.

Give her my love please, won't you?

joelallie · 03/08/2006 17:01

Thankyou! Ellie's my little star but not sure about me....

I'm not at all surprised that you couldn't carry on - that was one hell of a round trip you were doing!!! Without all your other worries at the time. I think you were amazing to carry on so long TBH.
