I emailed Yanks sometime ago offering her lift to supermarket but didn't get a response. I didn't like to be pushy (I'm soooooo English!) so didn;t follow it up. Hope all is OK..

MrsBigD · 04/06/2006 09:29

so who else is coming on 15th?

OP posts:
YanksUponThames · 05/06/2006 14:16

Hello! (and many apologies!!!) I beg forgiveness. Truly sorry to be out of touch so long. I've not been rudely ignoring everyone (on purpose, I mean!)...honestly just busy, and actually haven't been able to get at the computer much lately. I used to have a cushy job where I could sit at a computer much of the day, but not since ds was born (4 yrs ago)...

Dh has had a lot of family outings he's been wanting to do lately, so we've been away a bit. Not much free time recently in between packing & unpacking & basic chores. Since dh's job assignment here isn't a permanent one, he's been having Mad Tourist fits whenever he can get away from work. It's been fun, but I've gotten behind on a lot of things.

Wine & moussaka sound great! But need to check with dh first. I do hope I can see everyone again soon! Hope everyone is doing all right and enjoying the lovely weather.

suejonez · 06/06/2006 13:32

So are you coming Yanks? We can arrange to go supermarket shopping together (SJ temptingly waives juicy carrot). And I have American neighbours and I behave quite nicely to them Grin

YanksUponThames · 13/06/2006 11:26

Hi MrsBigD! Yes, I just found out I can come! Just sent you some email. Sorry for being dither-y; if it's easier for your planning if I don't come, because of my delay in RSVPing, then I understand entirely...

Uwila · 13/06/2006 11:34

Don't be stupid. You are coming. Grin

MrsBigD · 13/06/2006 12:31

Echo Uwila :) YOU ARE COMING YANKS!

OP posts:
Uwila · 14/06/2006 14:39

Bupety bump. Last call!

Looking forward to meeting Suejonez and hearing all about any adoption news. Oh, and of course the yummy greek food. And waving to MRsBigD under the table.

MrsBigD · 14/06/2006 14:42

What ARE you implying Uwila? That you won't join me under the table? Grin

OP posts:
Uwila · 14/06/2006 15:41

Depends on my work day and whether or not England win. (I've about given up on the USA not that there was ever much hope).

YanksUponThames · 14/06/2006 17:34

Hey, I don't have to drive either. Bottoms up!

Crikey, I can't get away from insane sports events no matter where the hell I live. In N.Carolina, it's the NCAA college basketball tournament every spring/"March Madness", where everyone blows off work and hunkers around TVs in pubs and shoves a fiver in the office betting pool. For some reason (at least in the southeast) no one gives a @#$! about professional basketball but gets completely potty about the college teams. Not that playing basketball actually has anything to do with a college education, as such...

bunyanvillas · 14/06/2006 21:15

Hello .. it's me, bunyanvillas! An occasional lurker on this thread Grin Each time you guys go out I seem to be going to Belfast to see my folks! Same scenario tomorrow night. Perhaps I could join you next time just to prove that I do exist? I would suggest a fancy restaurant in Isleworth ... but there aren't any!

Uwila · 14/06/2006 21:25

Maybe we should do Kew next time.

bunyanvillas · 14/06/2006 21:30

Kew would be good! Mind you, anywhere where I can quaff a large glass of wine is good these days Smile

incognitotoday · 15/06/2006 09:31

bunyan... so when are you NOT travelling in July ? Grin

MrsBigD · 15/06/2006 10:18
