I emailed Yanks sometime ago offering her lift to supermarket but didn't get a response. I didn't like to be pushy (I'm soooooo English!) so didn;t follow it up. Hope all is OK..

Hello! (and many apologies!!!) I beg forgiveness. Truly sorry to be out of touch so long. I've not been rudely ignoring everyone (on purpose, I mean!)...honestly just busy, and actually haven't been able to get at the computer much lately. I used to have a cushy job where I could sit at a computer much of the day, but not since ds was born (4 yrs ago)...

Dh has had a lot of family outings he's been wanting to do lately, so we've been away a bit. Not much free time recently in between packing & unpacking & basic chores. Since dh's job assignment here isn't a permanent one, he's been having Mad Tourist fits whenever he can get away from work. It's been fun, but I've gotten behind on a lot of things.

Wine & moussaka sound great! But need to check with dh first. I do hope I can see everyone again soon! Hope everyone is doing all right and enjoying the lovely weather.

So are you coming Yanks? We can arrange to go supermarket shopping together (SJ temptingly waives juicy carrot). And I have American neighbours and I behave quite nicely to them

so only 4 peeps for Thursday 15th? :( :)

Crikey, I can't get away from insane sports events no matter where the hell I live. In N.Carolina, it's the NCAA college basketball tournament every spring/"March Madness", where everyone blows off work and hunkers around TVs in pubs and shoves a fiver in the office betting pool. For some reason (at least in the southeast) no one gives a @#$! about professional basketball but gets completely potty about the college teams. Not that playing basketball actually has anything to do with a college education, as such...

Perhaps I could join you next time just to prove that I do exist? I would suggest a fancy restaurant in Isleworth ... but there aren't any!
