Hi tjgx, I moved to Mortimer in Feb. Did start a 'just moved to Mortimer' thread in Feb had a couple of replies but must admit usually have to wait a while for replies, maybe it depends when peeps can get on internet!! Anyway I'm a London girl although I have moved around abit during the last 10 years. Where abouts in London are you from? I'm originally from south london. Have got used to the rural life now and don't miss London so much although I still have friends in North London so I sometimes get my fix when visiting them. I have a 17 month old son, time flies by so quickly, I can't remember when he was a little babs.

Hi Tjgx, sorry you're feeling lonely and isolated. I know it is very difficult when you move to a new area especially as you're probably used to the London life. I do like Mortimer but like anywhere there are fors and againsts. I take my son to Monkey music and a baby and toddler group although it was difficult for me in the beginning I felt I had to do something for Ben. Do you drive? Maybe we could meet up, take the babes to the park?? I think I've got a rough idea of where Oxford road is. Anyway let me know if you do fancy meeting up especially now the weathers getting better.

KIRST003 · 14/07/2006 07:58

Hi everyone,
I live off the Oxford Road with a 15 month old son, but I work full time and so it is difficult for me to meet up. HOwever if anyone wants to go to the park anytime at the weekends for example, let me know and I'd love to meet up for a chat.

kathrynscotty · 27/07/2006 11:08

I am moving to Earley in mid-September and really keen to meet people as I know no one in Reading (beginning to wonder what we are doing)! Have a 20 month old boy and another baby due next week. We are also from London and a bit scared about having no friends.........have car and will travel. Daytimes or nights out sounds very interesting.

Quootiepie · 04/08/2006 10:56

Hi I'm in Wokingham, but I think my two are older than most of yours (18 & 16 )- but I've ben here for 15 years so if anyone has any questions about the area I may be able to help I work in a local school so quite cluedup about the education system, but not so much recent info for young ones

vickiyumyum · 24/08/2006 21:52

hi, i live in reading, we live in earley (near the big asda in lower earley) but am usually in town once a week or so, so more than happy to meet up, would be nice to meet some other mums in reading, most of my friends haven't got children.
i've got 3 children too, but mine are ds1 9, ds2 4 and dd 5 months.
i'm not on mumsnet as often as i used to be as i just don't seem to have the time anymore but feel free to contact me (and any other reading mums) at [email protected]

Hello mummies

I live in Earley with hubby and two baby girls, 19 and 8 months old. Weve lived here for a year but I haven't got to know anyone yet. Been so busy with the feeding, changing, sleeping routine.

Would like to finally get out and meet some like-minded mummies and play buddies for my babas.Don't really know where we can go to have fun round here either so any ideas? my email is [email protected].

deekay78 · 31/10/2006 16:27
