Moving to Nottingham where to live?

Moving to Nottingham this summer with husband and 2 girls age 6 & 8. Husband will be working at CaStle Marina Kirtley Drive.Girls will go to private school thinking of the nottingham high school for girls Ng1 4jb.would like the girls to live near their friends, what are the best areas near there without husband having to do too long a commute? Have never been to Nottingham before so don't even know where to start. Thx

If your girls are going to Nottingham High then their friends will be scattered all over the county.

Nice places in the city itself include
Mapperley Park
The Park
The arboretum is cheaper but very near the school

Outside the city there are a lot of nice places to the south within 5 miles, such as West Bridgford and villages in the borough of Rushcliffe
