Anyone fancy a Cheltenham meet-up?

Just been talking to a few MNers today about a meetup (you know who you are!). Would anyone fancy a few drinks and a meal one night in Cheltenham, and afterwards dancing round our handbags in the Prom Club?

(I am joking about the Prom Club Grin)

Thanks for organising Getorf, brilliant job, we've finally done it!
I'm sure I won't remember everyone I met last time, but yes me ledkr and a few others stayed late to sort the world out!
Is glove still on here?

MyCatIsAStupidBastard · 02/03/2013 07:38

Sazz is right ladies day is Weds. Been invited through wk so couldn't possibly say no Grin?

Ledkr · 02/03/2013 07:40

Glove is foxache I believe dolly. Will you recognise me do you think? I might ask Y she's a mumsnetter

DollyTwat · 02/03/2013 10:41

Ledkr you are unforgettable!

Galena · 02/03/2013 10:45

I will have gone early - I'm a bit of a lightweight (not physically, unfortunately) and have a non-sleeping DD, so I will probably be tucked up warm in bed by midnight...

dannyboyle · 03/03/2013 22:57

I would have got courage to join you but husband is out that night at an agm and I have no babysitter. Will do next time...............

foxache · 05/03/2013 00:07

Sorry Dolly, yes I was glove, I did type that a couple of times on the thread but was worried about relevance Blush I hope you had a good result last Friday btw.

I have a sitter for Friday, but have promised to be home by 11.30 as it's their first time. It'll be a festival of xbox and crisps. I might get to the pub early Smile Now I have a dilemma of how much to pay.

SizzleSazz · 05/03/2013 07:03

Still can't get a sitter for Fri Sad. Will keep trying.

Led, I have been invited to a corporate event on thurs but may well be able to sneak away for a bevvy!

Ledkr · 05/03/2013 07:31

Fox I pay five an hour but the sitter is a woman of 24 so don't feel can pay less. I'd need hundreds if I couldn't watch the tv Grin

Galena · 05/03/2013 12:21

:) (Just making sure I don't lose the thread!)

foxache · 05/03/2013 18:26

Thanks Led, I'll work it out from that then. It's going to be an experience for all!

Sazz, I hope you can find a sitter and Crunchies, sorry you can't make it, come to the next one?

PatTheHammer · 06/03/2013 14:55

Sazz and MyCat if you are still coming????

I am probs going to drive over as I have a hellishly busy saturday which includes getting DD over to cirencester for a birthday party before 10am on saturday morning. Decided its best NOT to drink!

Anyways, I can pick you guys up if you need a lift, have arranged sitters. Let me know!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 06/03/2013 15:38

Yes please I'd love to.

Galena · 06/03/2013 15:45

I'm planning on driving... so if anyone round the Cheltenham area (we're west of the town centre, but am happy to pick up within reason) wants a lift, let me know... I won't be staying terribly late though. We've had a few crap nights with DD and I'll be falling asleep before too long!

SizzleSazz · 06/03/2013 17:22

Hi Pat, still no luck on babysitters - I use babysitters from the creche but they are all on a night out together . I'm going to put a last chance shout out on FB to see if anyone can do it, but it's looking unlikely at the mo Sad

SizzleSazz · 06/03/2013 17:22

But thanks for the offer of a lift! I'll keep you posted....

Ledkr · 06/03/2013 17:54

Galena is west if cheltenham past c kings? No worries if not though I'm happy to bus it.

Galena · 06/03/2013 18:56

It's not, but I'm absolutely, perfectly happy to come and pick you up - I am more likely to turn up if I have to pick someone up Grin

GetOrf · 06/03/2013 19:51

Are we meeting in a pub beforehand or just at vine at 8?

OP posts:
DollyTwat · 06/03/2013 21:06

I'm going to taxi it (from prestbury) unless anyone is very near and driving, so can pick up in my taxi if anyone wants

I think I'm going to meet at the pub at 8 if that's ok, less of a rush for the babysitter.

GetOrf · 06/03/2013 21:32

Let's meet at the pub then - makes sense.

I am going to skulk back to MIL's afterwards, she is off to Oman for 6 weeks the day after so will drunkenly say goodbye. Sure she will be thrilled Grin

I can't dirnk too much really as have got to drive the next day. She has her driving test at the end of the month - what will I do when I am no longer mum's taxi!

OP posts:
GetOrf · 06/03/2013 21:33

Drive dd I mean to say.

OP posts:
Ledkr · 06/03/2013 22:13

Ok I'm happy to meet at 8 too help dh get the ginger one to bed and furnish lairy Mary with sweets.
Dolly and I are very moderate drinkers so will be a quiet night.
Galena ill get the bus it's door to door literally x
I'm looking forward to it

JALG · 06/03/2013 22:17

Hi folks, just picked up this thread as posted last night and am amazed to come across a group of mumsnetters in Cheltenham. I am in Woodmancote. Am already out in town for a drink on Friday so could join or maybe tag onto the next meet. I am separated soon to be divorced with 2 DD's 9 & 20. Would like to meet anyone who has recently steered their life through this and is feeling that it was all worthwhile! cheers

Ledkr · 06/03/2013 22:36

Hi jalg yes join us. You have a huge age gap between your children. I have a 28 yr old and a 2 yr old with three in between. I have been through divorce as have a few if us. How about I pm you my mobile no and you can text me Friday.
