Anyone fancy a Cheltenham meet-up?

Just been talking to a few MNers today about a meetup (you know who you are!). Would anyone fancy a few drinks and a meal one night in Cheltenham, and afterwards dancing round our handbags in the Prom Club?

(I am joking about the Prom Club Grin)

Oh lovely I'm so sorry. Have you had the results yet? Please tell me it's all ok.

I am really sorry, I am an absolute moron for forgetting. I only bumped this thread last week fgs.

In my defence (and I know it sounds twattish) but have had a rough couple of weeks, have got CIN 3 cells in a smear so had a cone biopsy and loop diathermy colposcopy thing where they said that they had a lot of cells, so am very worried that it has turned to something more sinister. Anyway I was supposed to get the results last week but they were delayed because of the bank holiday so was pretty upset, spoke to XP about it and he offered to take me out for dinner and cocktails to cheer me up, was in All Bar One with a porn star martini (what a name) when dolly rang and I was 'oh SHIT'

So I am sorry I missed it, definitely want to come to the next one. I am a slack twat aren't I.

Brilliant Boo.
I've seen so many mums who have just moved to the area post on various Glos threads in the past and so few people reply - would be great if there was more support here.

Hello GreenShadow - and thanks!

I def know what you mean about the Gloucestershire site and I'll have a look into it. At the moment I'm just looking after Mumsnet Local Chelt and Glos, so will aim to work out a way for the 2 sites to link properly first and then carry on from there.

Hopefully once both sites are busier, there'll be lots there for everyone (good plan...) - but leave it with me.

Congratulations BooMum123. I'm glad someone has taken on this roles.

I keep popping over to both the Chelt and Glos one and the general Gloucestershire site, hoping that it will spring to life and get some local dialogue going. Trouble is, everyone else is like me, and waiting for someone else to start things off.

Maybe part of the problem is that it is OK if you live in Chelt or Glos themselves, but if you live outside the larger towns then 'Gloucestershire' is such a wide area that those of us in the south have little in common with those in Twekesbury or its surrounds.

Hello - (Dolly, I have a different nickname but I'm the same person...)

Just wanted to pop along and introduce myself, I'm the new local editor for the Cheltenham and Gloucester Mumsnet Local site (here: local.mumsnet.com/cheltenham-gloucester)

To be honest, you seem to be managing perfectly well - but I am here if you need anything and at the moment working to get local talk moving, lots of good listings and (v importantly) reviews.

Anyway, I'm here and the local site is there for you to use.

Hope you all had a lovely time on Friday and a nice weekend. I was a bit confused by being able to leave my gloves at home to be honest...

Aw they were good and Ella was so chuffed I'm glad we came.

Yes let's do another. Ill check calendar when we get back.

Let's go somewhere where a bottle of wine is reasonable or we could do a byo curry and well... Byo!

She forgot ledkr! Must be her age Grin

How was wand erection?

The Beehive was very busy and loud but ok, Tivoli was nice too. The food is very nice, bit pricey but huge portions. Wine was £18 so a bit steep!

Did we agree the date for the next one? I guess we could try somewhere different each time?

Well if we go to the Tivoli there's parking outside I think, or nearby

Shall we agree the Tivoli? Shall I reserve a table for 7?
