Anyone fancy a Cheltenham meet-up?

Just been talking to a few MNers today about a meetup (you know who you are!). Would anyone fancy a few drinks and a meal one night in Cheltenham, and afterwards dancing round our handbags in the Prom Club?

(I am joking about the Prom Club )

Ah yes if you have a babysitter who can't drive you have to pay their taxi home. All adds up

My friend had a BBQ today so I had to wait til the boys went to their dads til I had a glass of wine. Then ds1 decided he didn't want to go as he was having fun at the party. For an awful minute I thought he wasn't going to go! He did in the end under protest!
So have had a lovely afternoon chatting with friends eating and sipping more wine

Pat - Thanks for the offer - am certainly in Stroud and not at all bothered about the 'stalking' thing - rather flattered that anyone has actually noticed me as I'm not a prolific poster!

Trouble is, posting on MN is a great equaliser but in real life, I think I'd feel a bit old compared to most of you lot - my DC are all well past baby/childhood and are secondary school age and beyond.

Mine are starting secondary soon and some of us have older children too

Late April would be good - although DD's birthday party is 21st, so I'd prefer not that weekend...

It's all a bit different from when I babysat as a kid. A tenner, eat all the food in the cupboards and a walk home at 3 in the morning

I agree that's too expensive. If dh is on a late shift he can take over pay the sitter so not too bad for me.
getorf agree about the babysitting. It was always a good place for a good snogging session too as long as the kids were little it asleep.
I'd have been horrified if if actually had to do more than check the children

The weekends available in April then are; 5/6th, 13/14th, and maybe Friday 19th if Galena can make it.

5/6th is the last weekend of the holidays I think. It's the only one nobody has difficulty with so far.
If not then then the 19th is the most possible if Galena doesn't mind, but if it's too complicated with the birthday, we can think again, it would be nice if you could come.

My social diary confirms that I am free on all dates It had better not still be snowing by then.

No, you're not awkward Galena, just want to make it the best date possible for most people without anyone having to fork out for babysitters.

19th is ok, if no other dates are any good. 20th isn't :)
