Hi ya, i'm 26 yrs, first time mum to a beautiful 4 month old boy and about to move to Maida Vale...i'm looking at all these postcodes and have no idea if it is near me as I don't know that side of London at all. Is there anyone near me to stop me becoming lonely, depressed and gaining loads of weight because I am confined to my houseGrin????????????????????????

Hi Kegs - I'm from W10, Ladbroke Grove which is nearish to Maida Vale. I've got a 6 month old DD.

When do you move over this way?

Kegs · 25/04/2006 18:13

Hi ya, sorry it took so long to reply, I only work evenings so can only reply then, when we eventually move I will be able to get my computer out of storage woo hoo!!!!!

We are desperately decorating the house and the carpets go in this weekend so I would say in two weeks hopefully!

I am new to Mumsnet and see everyone typing DD and DH etc...what does it all mean?

There's an acronym list under useful stuff at the top there, but DH = darling husband and DD = darling daughter.

Wow to be being back at work already Smile.

Where are you moving from, another part of London?

Kegs · 26/04/2006 21:33

I am from SE17 (Walworth Road near Elephant & Castle), we are moving to Maida Vale because of my other halfs work, he is manager of Jubilee Sports Centre just off the Harrow Road and it comes with a two bed place so that aint too bad.

I have been back to work since DB was 3 weeks old, my firm turned the department upside down to accommodate me working evenings (i'm a legal sec)so I have a cosy number doing 5:30 to 11 Mon to Thurs but am generally home before 10pm and I only took a slight pay drop for much less work and much less hours!!

Do you know anything about the area I am moving to, is it nice? I have only been there a couple of times to supervise the works being carried out on the house and thats about it no guided tour or anything yet.
