Hi

I have just moved to the Southampton area, and don't know a single person around here! I have a 10 week old baby.

Tommy · 16/06/2006 10:34

I am in Chandlers Ford. Have never been on a meet up before, but would love to. It does seem remarkably quiet for this area. Whereabouts are you?

BernieBear · 27/07/2006 08:43

Sorry Mummy Fuddle brain, can see you are in Hedge End now!

How is being a new Mummy for you? Quite life changing isn't it! Mine is 2.4 now and I am still reeling from the shock of it all ...oh and sleep deprivation........

Tallysmummy · 27/07/2006 16:17

hi being a mummy is great!!!! i love it. sleep is not to bad as she has been sleeping through since 11 week (no teeth yet). I have never done a meet up either but would also like to. im still trying to grt to know the area

BernieBear · 28/07/2006 12:27

Oooh congratulations on the sleeping! Am quite envious, I still seem to be catching up on the last 2 years!

Where have you moved from? I work part time but can arrange a meet up for weekends/mon/tues. Chandlers Ford is about 10 mins down the motorway from you, so not far.

Maybe if we keep posting and bumping this message other mums from this area will start posting too. From what I have seen Maltesers was looking and also chjlly was messaging a while back too.

Tallysmummy · 28/07/2006 12:47

Hi
Most people i have have sploke to are very green with envy that dd sleeps through the night, good job really as i love my sleep!!!!!

Im not working at the mo (enjoying being a lady that lunches) so i could meet up any time.

We moved from Maidstone in Kent, all my family are still there!!!!

Whats Chandlers Ford like? we are house hunting at the mo, but not sure of the areas yet.

whoopsfallenoveragain · 28/07/2006 12:57

Hello - I'd be up for a meet up (I'm am chjlly but decided to have a more appropriate name change!)
I can only do weekends though I'm afraid

BernieBear · 28/07/2006 14:53

hey hey fantastic - love the name by the way.

Looks like a weekend then. My ds is 2.4 and goes to his Dad's every other weekend so I'll check my dates tonight and post some options.

Tallysmummy - are you okay for the weekend?

Wfoa - are you in Chandlers Ford? How old are your dcs?

whoopsfallenoveragain · 28/07/2006 14:58

Hi - I am off Oakmount Road.
ds is 5 in Sept and dd is 2 and a half.

That sounds good I think I am free most weekends now until Sept!

BernieBear · 29/07/2006 07:44

On checking my dates, the next free weekend when I have my ds is 26th August! I know this is pretty far off, but how are you both fixed?

wfoa - I am on Hursley Road

What do you fancy doing? Coffee and play or late afternoon drinks and play!

Thoughts?

BernieBear · 29/07/2006 07:46

Tallysmummy - how are you coping without your family close by? Must be hard for you.

Tallysmummy · 29/07/2006 15:16

Hi

Weekend are not impossible but harder as my dp works all week and weekends are the only real time he gets to spend with dd. Will see what gets arranged.

Yes it is hard way from family, and they really miss us. dd is now starting to do a lot more and i feel they are missing out not seening her so much. We normally visit each other every thrid week but thats getting harder as we are spending most of our time house hunting.

Have found a great great house in Locks Heath do you know what its like area wise????

Tallysmummy · 31/07/2006 20:32

bump

BernieBear · 03/08/2006 14:25

Hi sorry for delay; toddler tantrums have hit here and am either dealing with those or rocking in a corner or working.

Locks Heath is nice. Relatively new area (in the great scheme of things) so think that there are plenty of services etc. Not completely up on the area but my Mum lived in Titchfield Common for a while and found it fine. You are pretty near to the sea etc with good access to motorways. The only downside I know of about that area, is that the traffic is hideous at rush hour. I am pretty sure there are some websites around that can tell you about areas in relation to facilities, crime figures, prices etc. Will see if I can find some for you.

Hope you are well

BernieBear · 03/08/2006 14:26

Also a couple of people I know have recently moved there so it can't be that bad!

Bucketsofdinosaurs · 09/08/2006 19:43

Hiya
Just posted on the other Soton thread and noticed this one.
Is Kids2day in CFord horrible during the holidays or might that make a good meetup place? Mine are both under 4 so I still have that slight terror of schoolies
If anyone's brave enough I'm up for a meal out somewhere one weeknight. Tried to organise one before but everyone chickened out LOL.

millysimmons · 31/08/2006 18:04

Hi,
I'm new to this site. My names Emily, 32 & we're expecting our first in 3 weeks, been told its a boy. Maybe being a little premature on this but none of my friends have family yet so thought I might try & put out some feelers to see what everyone does & if there are coffee mornings etc for mums. Doing it this side of birth while got time to!!! & to stop me going mad the other side!

ClareWeeval · 31/08/2006 18:55

Hi Millie whereabouts are you?
