lavender1, I have taken a special interest in the Cambridge meet up threads. Yes they do exist and I believe some people did meet up a year or so ago. Don't know if they still do.

I don't go to these. Athough originally a cambridge-ite, I now live in London. You might need to search under 'other topics' to unearth the original threads if you are interested to see who posted. I am sure someone will answer you here though if you wait a bit longer. HTH

Hi Lavender1, I do! There are a few others but there hasn't been a meet-up yet (nearly was but didn't quite happen). Have just got to get the dds to bed but will check this later...

MBB · 03/01/2004 14:06

I do - never met up with anyone, but would love to do so.

I live in Cambridge and would like to meet other people. (Does that sound a bit desperate?)

lavender1 · 03/01/2004 22:17

want to arrange something, evening as work in daytime?

OP posts:
Homsa · 05/01/2004 09:28

Hi, I'm also in Cambridge with a 6-month-old. Would also like to meet up, (early) evening would be fine.
Seems to me that in Cambridge all the Mum&Baby groups meet in the morning, which is no use to me as I work part-time then! Does anyone happen to know if there are any groups that meet in the afternoons?

lavender1 · 01/02/2004 00:40

Can anyone suggest a good restaurant/bar in Cambridge? Friday/ Saturday night would be good as week days involves getting up early for children? February/ March?

Oh and me. I live in Cambridge and don't really know anyone with small children bar people at nursery? Will have to make sure I do or don't know you 1st before meet up. But that sounds really fun.

lavender1 · 01/02/2004 08:47

any Fri/Sat good for anyone in next few months?

OP posts:
cazzybabs · 01/02/2004 09:01

Yep..fine for me. What about noodles? or pizza express? Or a nice pub - Free Press/Cambridge Blue?

lavender1 · 01/02/2004 09:10

Sounds good, don't actually live in Cambridge itself and don't know any bars and stuff, so whatever anyone suggests if fine by me...how's Friday 27th of Feb sound? BTW are you new to mumsnet only that haven't heard your name before don't think...welcome aboard!

OP posts:
cazzybabs · 01/02/2004 09:13

No I do post and have been for ages, but tend to do alot of reading of posts. It satifies my nosey instinct, but I also I learn alot about life on Mumsnet.

lavender1 · 01/02/2004 09:24

I do much of the same and just don't remember all (shrinking pregnancy brain don't think has ever gone back ie.bad memory)..

OP posts:
cazzybabs · 01/02/2004 09:28

When are you due? Do you have any others? What do you do?

I am due in Sept (hopefully) - so long away . Have a dd (20 months) and teach.

Nome · 01/02/2004 09:38

27th is good for me. I like pizza...and (lots of) red wine

lavender1 · 01/02/2004 09:39

Not pregnant (shrinking thing was fact that never goes back even when had children). ds is 8 1/2 and dd is 7 and I'm a landscape gardener...what do you teach? (brave women children all day, every day I hold my hat off to teachers)...which age group do you teach?

OP posts:
lavender1 · 01/02/2004 09:40

Goody

OP posts:
Nome · 01/02/2004 09:44

I used to teach too. I now spend all my time with one child (ds who has just turned one) instead of 30. I taught MFL ages 11-18. I don't miss going to school yet!

tigermoth · 01/02/2004 13:40

sigh! just loved the Cambridge Blue pub - a nice place to meet with children or without.

The first pub I went into in my life was the Free Press.

cazzybabs · 02/02/2004 22:36

Shall we"try" and arrange a date????

When is good for you guys???

cazzybabs · 02/02/2004 22:40

ve just read the red wine comment - god I need a drink pref a large g and t. Oh well only another 34 weeks to go (hopefully).

For venues I suggest:
Free press (but maybe small) - pub
Cambridge blue - pub
Pizza Express (11a)
Fort St. George - pub

This is as far as my organisation goes as I am rubbish at organsing anything AND no doubt I will chicken out of meeting you guys..

Nome · 03/02/2004 15:57

So, do we have a date? So far Lavender and I can do 27th, any more?
