Next meet up, Tuesday 4th September.
During the day, either Botanic Gardens in Durham or the Slug and Fiddle near the Gala Theatre in Durham City centre.

Now for some random chat.
DS sang a song about bolognaise today. And DD walked some more. But still prefers crawling and using my nipples as handholds on Mount Starbuck.

Hello em . I do apologise for my language- it has been a bad dayGrin

There are a few of us around,.including some teesiders. We like to meet up for cake and occasionally we leave the house after dark to drink cocktailsGrin otherwise we hang around here for idle chat and ranting

Indith · 16/01/2013 19:49

Hello Em! Dive on in!

There are a fair few of us though we are spread from Darlington up to Newcastle direction and out to Teeside too but we tend to end up meeting in Durham.

We chat a bit on here, meet for cake often and sometimes for something more alcoholic and a meal :)

Next cake is the 21st in the Slug and Lettuce, hope you can make it to say hello! Think it is around 10.30, sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Indith · 16/01/2013 19:51

Bloody teething child. He is being GROTTY and I NEED to go finish gathering stuff for my bursary application so I can post it all off tomorrow.

On the bright side I now have a provisional timetable thing with my various dates for placements, teaching blocks and holidays!

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 16/01/2013 20:07

Boo to grotty teething child but yay to getting closer to starting uni.

I now have curry and wine so feeling betterGrin

Emandlu · 16/01/2013 20:12

Ooh, the 21st you say? Cake?? Is the slug and lettuce in the centre?

I'm going to like it here Grin

I shall see what I can do. I move on the 19th and I will have 2 older kids in tow as I home ed at the moment. But they will sit and eat cake nicely at another table if necessary with us.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 16/01/2013 20:18

Yup, it is the slug behind the gala theatre. Unfortunately we are in quarantine for chicken pox but am sure the rest of them will make you welcome. Smile

The children trend to go feral at meet ups while we pay attention to more important things cake

Indith · 16/01/2013 20:22

Mmmm curry. I should make dh make me curry this weekend.

I just purchased these sexy things for placements. I'm told we need very comfortable shoes!

Indith · 16/01/2013 20:27

Sounds good! Children of all description very welcome. Cake is 2 for 1 so they won't even cost you that much to keep quiet Grin. You will need cake if you'v just moved.

Indith · 16/01/2013 20:31

Oh chicken pox, good point. I don't think I need to stay away as I think we saw our friend too many days before the spots came out so I don't think she will have been infectious.

Sorry Em, we are just being more cautious on the pox front as Leggy is very pregnant.

Anyway we will be there. Goodness knows I need cake!

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 16/01/2013 20:33

Nice shoesGrin

dh got asked if I'm pregnant today. Now I know it is kind of traditional for me to get knocked up again at around this stage but I don't think people should be setting their watches by it Grin

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 16/01/2013 20:34

Monday was the last confirmed case at nursery so on count down

Indith · 16/01/2013 20:34
Grin
Emandlu · 16/01/2013 20:48

It's understandable to be cautious with very pregnant people about.
My dh had shingles when I was pregnant with my eldest. I went to live with my mum for ages Grin

I should be able to find that. I shall be the harassed looking woman with 2 kids nearly as big as I am! Please look out for me and shout in my general direction.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 16/01/2013 20:57

Enjoy your cake Envy . My meeting in the 22nd had been cancelled so I'll be in work on the 21st.

Em, it is usually just us in the slug so they should be easy to spotGrin.

greenflowers · 17/01/2013 10:09

Ooo hello, is there room for another newbie here?

I remember seeing this group a few weeks after having my baby last year and thinking I must come back and join in when I was feeling less sleep deprived!

I'm in Durham and like cake Smile

LeggyBlondeNE · 17/01/2013 10:55

Yeah, we'll be the ladies sat in the carpetted area cackling. And one of us will be sporting the most ginormous bump ;-)

(At least, I'd better be, I'm damn well looking forward to my two-weeksish of relaxation and cake after the mad dash to get all my work finished tomorrow!)

Indith · 17/01/2013 11:35

Hello greenflowers! Of course you can join in! Cake on the 21st? Slug and lettuce on the sofas in the downstairs bit, 10.30 ish.

I will be the haggard one with a 4 year old girl and a 10 month old.

LeggyBlondeNE · 17/01/2013 14:48

Ooo, indith, any chance we could borrow your water pump if you still have it? Ours was playing up while emptying the pool last night after our trial run (had a lovely relaxing time in it before that though!)

Indith · 17/01/2013 15:16

Sorry, I don't have a water pump we never bothered.

Try putting a shout out on MID or the homebirth group?

CremeEggThief · 17/01/2013 21:06

Helloo everyone, please may I join in too? A very kind Mnetter signposted me to the meet-ups on a thread a couple of months ago. I wasn't sure if I'd be welcome to come along, as my DS is 10, but I would like to come, if you'll have me?

Indith · 17/01/2013 21:55

of course you are, anyone is welcome Smile Smile if you are free on the 21st come and eat cake.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 18/01/2013 09:31

Welcome, creamegg, Emdlun and greenflowers!

Yep, 10.30 in the slug and lettuce on Monday 21st.

Boo to Spiggy not making it :(

I'll be there probably not long after 10amish, hopefully with my friend and her 2 girls.

Creamegg - we can use your 10yo to shepherd the toddlers Wink

Indith - I am sure the junior doctors will get a thrill out of those shoes ;)

VikingLady · 18/01/2013 16:31

We've got someone coming to service the burglar alarm, so a thrilling alternative to cake Sad

Will have to make my own cake. Not happy.
